1- I think that could have been catcher's indifference (judment call)

 

4- Barrett is a terrible defensive catcher no amount of sarcasim will change that

 

1. I think defensive indifference is only called in the 9th, IIRC.

 

4. It was cynicism. I know Barrett is fairly lousy on defense, but I hate it when people try to use numbers to prove it... especially when the numbers don't mean too much given the context (i.e. how slow our pitchers are to the plate)

And Barrett ends the threat by popping out to CF.

What exactly has he done to not warrant the hate this year?

Good approach, swing at the first pitch after a walk.

 

Some of those pitches were very close. It isn't as if Wells is known for having control problems. If Barrett got a good pitch to hit he should have swung. He also should have hit it much better than he did.
