Pie's call there. He's in charge (supposedly)

No catcher in the world would have been able to catch Cruz stealing third there, but I bet good money we have people talking about how Barrett is a crappy defensive catcher because he only throws out X% of baserunners.

sorry guys. This one is on me. I started Ted in fantasy league today.

Spot start?

Cause I've been starting Rich Hill all year, and that's worked out pretty well for all parties involved.

It still counts against Barrett's numbers.

Is it just me, or do the Cubs seem to have a lot of really slow SPs that are susceptible to steals? There have been many instances of runners getting such good jumps on our pitchers that there was no chance of throwing them out.

It's not just you and it's not just this year. Z is quick to the plate, but that's about it over the past couple of years.

It's not just you. It's been generally acknowledged for years that the Cubs' power pitching staff was real easy to steal off of.

1- I think that could have been catcher's indifference (judment call)

2- he was already in scoring position, I don't think Lilly was worried about him

3- I don't really mind with Lilly having trouble locating the strike zone.

4- Barrett is a terrible defensive catcher no amount of sarcasim will change that

i have to say i'm impressed that Lou didn't feel the need to reward Izturis with 5 more starts after yesterday's double. Baker would have...
