yeah, i'm sure those four extra pitches were what made the difference since he was due up 2nd in the inning.

 

It doesnt matter who was batting.

 

87 pitches vs. 95? A manager probably would let someone stay in with 87 and a lead. 95 probably not.

A productive AB would have been one where he got on base or drove in a run not making the final out of an inning.

 

Um, no.

 

Those 9 pitches he just took in his AB ran Washburns count up close to 100, meaning he had to be taken down for a PH.

 

Hopefully we can have better success against another pitcher instead of the 5 freaking hits we have so far.

 

Who is to say they would not have taken out Washburn even if Izturis got out of on the first pitch. Or they leave him in and he gets hit well in the 7th. I soppose for Izturis it might have been a productive out since he sucked but I am not gonna cheer him on for making an inning ending out.
