I expected a call-up because of the knocked out bullpen.

I did too-it still might happen and just hasn't been reported yet. Also, if Floyd is back tonight, an announcement of who is going to be sent down also has to be coming.

I really REALLY wish Z would have pitched last night

We would have seen some casualties and I would have loved it.

But, anyway, I hope the cubs can take out their anger tonight, preferably on the baseball.

Having accidentally slept through most of last night's game, I'm hoping tonight's is better. Roast's 'taking anger out on the baseball' sounds good.

I guess they're banking on Zambrano stepping up and pitching 7+

It's too bad he threw 117 last time, and 125 three starts ago. It seems likes every start Z has had to reach back and get a little something extra. The worse his slump got the more effort he seems to be putting into his outings, and that's not necessarily a good thing for pitchers.

I'd really hate to see him battle through 6 and have the coaches try and get 7 or 8 out of him by extending him, when it already appears there is something wrong with the guy.

Lilly and Marquis should be available if they need a couple innings tonight. Marquis isn't scheduled for a regular start until Thursday, and he's coming off a 50 pitch outing.

Hell, I could live with Zambrano for 6, Marquis for 2 and Dempster for 1.

Just as important as Zambrano having a good long outing, the offense really needs to score 6 or 7 tonight.

I saw the first inning on TV, then listened to the rest while driving home from the beach. My XM was dead and I had to rely on the randomly placed ESPN affiliated radio stations that weren't carrying the basketball game. Of course the signal was at it's worst just as Dempster imploded.

on that topic...anyone have a screen shot of the 5 second camera zoom-in on dempster in the dugout after he blew the game and ate dirt?

that was a precious face

almost as precious as the face he made when Piniella came out last night after he fell down

dempster really is trash

Yesterday was only his second blown save. Dempster is no hero, but he is not trash. Eyre is trash. That ump is trash.

Cubs win this game in a laugher! Final score 8-2. Z goes 7.

the only laugher here is how wrong that post will be.

Especially because Eyre might pitch the last two innings. I don't know how many arms we'd have, but Eyre and Gallagher are the only bullpen arms that weren't used yesterday. I'd like to see us win, though.

WGN Radio just reported that Floyd is back and Ramirez is going on the 15 day DL.

Ugh, so when is he able to come off?

Well, he last played on the 6th, so I'm guessing they could back date him 'till then, and he would be eligible to return on the 21st or 22nd ??
