Most play-by-play guys are wretched know-it-alls who don't know it all.

While we're on the subject of bad announcers, my mom and I both agreed that the Cardinals radio guys suck. This is the play-by-play guy (I never caught a name) calling a double play.

They've got the same deal going with Shannon that we have with Santo. He's a beloved ex-player who may not be all that good at what he does, but the fans love him for nostalgic reasons more than anything else.

 

Personally, I think the guy's an idiot because he intentionally mispronounces Maddux's name, always saying Maddox. Drives me nuts.

What a strange inning in the Mariners-Red Sox game

 

Daisuke pitching and walks the bases loaded. The next guy grounds out and a run scores. After that, a hit by pitch. Then a double scoring two, followed by two errors by Lugo scoring 2 more. Finally, back to back outs end the inning.

 

Mariners score 5 runs on 1 hit and still leave 2 people on base.

Although we'd lose 1/2 game to milwaukee, we'd be tied for 2nd place in the division if the games turn out like they are right now.
