Dempster quote after the game today:

"They have a good team. They do a good job," Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster said of the Mets. "Tip your cap to them. Unfortunately, I didn't do my job today. I didn't do a very good job at all."

Is that you Dusty?

Hilarious.

You don't "tip your cap" when you give up 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning to a remote shell of the Mets' lineup like that, Ryan, you get pissed that you sucked so bad.

Yeah, if that's really Ryan's attitude then I guess he won't be getting any better any time soon. That's pathetic. They rolled a AAA lineup out there today and Dempster made them look like worldbeaters.

I'm just about done with Ryan's B.S. act.

Did you say "over"?

Nothing's over until we decide it is!

Was it over when the Germans

bombed Pearl Harbor?

Hell no!

And it ain't over now.

'Cause when the going gets tough...

the tough get going! Who's with me?

Let's go!

Delta Tau Chi - a group of fine young men who routinely display tenacity and resourcefulness

Chicago Cubs - a group of losers who can't wait to collect their paychecks and hit the local restaurants and bars

Cubs, in the Mets series:

Runs scored = 20

Runs allowed = 20

W-L = 1-3

If this team were a horse, it would be shot dead.

This Cubs team will generate more mental institution admissions than it will wins. Book it!

And one of them may be named Lou Piniella.

Sigh. I am now in agreement. I would have gone to a bar last night except that it was too late here to do so.

I had some money I could have used for either a trip to Chicago to see the Cubs or to buy a new computer. I just ordered a new computer. :x

This is just great. A team effort at sucking s!@#. If one or two guys try and not suck, the whole team picks up the slack to create a fantastic losing effort. This is what losing is all about. The Cubs are doing it to perfection. Everyone does their part to make sure the other team, no matter what, manages to score at least 1 run more on a given day. You have to love it. This team sucks more than any Cub team in recent memory. They make the absolute most out of their talent to suck as much a humanly possible. Bunch of f---ing losers.

They are probably the greatest underperforming Cubs team in recent history. In 2006, they had the excuse that they were legitimately awful. In 2004, they choked, but at least had a pretty strong overall season. Now, they have decent talent, and they still can't manage to be .500 in the worst division in baseball.

At least we're good at sucking.

Oh well, looks like I'll have another free summer ahead of me for the second straight year. I certainly won't be wasting beautiful days inside watching this sorry sack of losers.

Ya its officially over. This team cant get on any kind of streak to come back from 8.5 back. Add in the fact that Marquis is back to pitching like Jason Marquis, and Lilly is going to get bombed in Chicago during the summer...they are done.

I can't even get excited for the Cubs Vs. Sox game. Both teams are crashing bores.

It's a guarantee that we'll win 2 out of 3 this weekend just to get our hopes up a little bit, but we'll end up getting swept by the Rockies.

This squad is a joke. Until they win 15 of 20 games, then I might take them serious. But now? No way.

Cub fans in general cannot be die hard and be serious about it. They just lost a series to the worst team in the AL and people on this board are still talking like a big win streak is just right around the corner. Ain't gonna happen, not gonna do it (Dana Carvey foing GH Bush).

We got the Cards fighting and clawing for W's with half a line up - and the Cubs? Where is the team we heard was going to score all these runs, we were told its an AL line up. My a#$ it is!

Lou Piniella will be gone after next year, he'll either be fired or quit. Either way, he will not complete his 3 year deal.
