The Bulls cooled off what everyone, even Skiles, thought would be an inevitable Heat run. I have never seen a team win so soundly without having any real offensive paint presence. That will be their stumbling block on a night where they arent shooting good. The Bulls work hard, but their shots aren't easy ones like Shaq's are.

I'm not so sure of that. Overall they shot pretty poorly in Game 1 and still won pretty soundly. I think the Bulls are deep enough and good enough to win without a bigtime post up threat. Even if a couple guys are having an off night, we have players who can step in.

They didn't win soundly. They were up 1 with under a minute to go.

Awesome game! At least one team I root for isn't pathetically sucking now.

And as for the "Bulls have no post presence" criticism, I just don't get it. I don't remember the Pistons having a big post presence. And the Bulls never did either. Bill Cartwright and Will Purdue don't count.

As long as they keep outscoring teams like the Heat in the paint, I'm okay with their low post game.

If they have an achilles heel, IMO, its the fact that they have no guy that can create a shot for himself when the clock is running down during crunch time. Gordon is the closest they have, but he's short and not the quickest guy out there.

Still, I think the NBA is wide open this year, and wouldn't be surprised to see the East actually win this year. So I'll actually give the Bulls a chance to win it all.

Hmm...yeah, that's right. I forgot it did get that close. Either way, I think this team should take down Miami in 5. I think we'll steal one in Miami and win Game 5 at home. I could also see a sweep.

I called Bulls in six a week ago in the other Bulls thread.

I'm not so sure of that anymore.

Not to dampen the enthusiasm, but the Bulls have blown a 2-0 lead before in the playoffs, and the Heat were left for dead in the finals last year too.

The Bulls really need to win one in Miami. This isn't over quite yet.

I wouldn't say the NEED to win one in Miami, but if they do, the Heat are toast. There is no way Miami can win twice in Chicago

The Bulls really needed to win one in Miami last year. That's the beauty of home court.

Yeah, but I don't want this thing to go to 7. I'm not sure my poor, tired heart can take it

95% of the teams win the series if they win the first two playoff games

The Heat themselves were down 2-0 in the Finals last year and came back. I have never contradicted myself in a post like this before.

The 2-3-2 format of the Finals seems more conducive to that kind of comeback.

Can anyone honestly see the Heat winning this series with Wade in his present form? I can't, and I don't see how Wade's shoulder can get better without surgery.

Midseason, I thought it would be a good idea for Paxson to trade Deng to get Gasol, I'll eat crow on that one....Deng is turning to a legit superstar before our eyes. Right now I'd rank him right around Carmelo in terms of top young SF's.

Not to dampen the enthusiasm myself (because my pick at this point is Bulls in 5), but where have we heard that before? With the same two cities, no less.

Apples and oranges. The Bulls won 75% of their home games this season. The Cubs won 54% of their home games in 2003.

Not to mention the Cubs won game 6 that year. And no amount of logic, reason, "truth", or therapy will ever get me to believe differently.

Anyone else notice that almost all of the national articles about this series are more "What's wrong with the Heat?" rather than "The Bulls are damn good." ?

I say that, then I see the CNNSI.com article praising the Bulls...:P

Yeah, figures. Anyone that objectively watches the game can tell Chicago simply outplaying them and is a younger quicker team.

Ben Wallace & Hinrich/Sefolosha are giving Shaq/D Wade fits. D Wade appears to be a shell of what he was last season.

Antoine Walker might be one of the worst players in the NBA right now.

Ya, I know. I was just pointing out the coincidence.

At this point, I'm just hoping for a split in Miami. I have tickets to game 5, and I don't want a refund. :)

I would have much rather traded Gordon than Deng, even back then. Gordon has always been more of the offense, but I think Gordon's scoring is more easily replaced. Hard to find 6'8" forwards with that type of all-around game, especially considering he just turned 21.

Yeah, I heard Chuck praising the Bulls last night, which I found to be refreshing. I think he's grudgingly been giving us a little more respect lately.

I mean it's obvious what's wrong with Miami, so I'm not sure why it's worth rehashing. Shaq is old and Wade's hurt. End of article. The real question is, can this Bulls team seal the deal and then challenge the Pistons? That's got to be the real story, no matter how much the NY types want to carry on with their Chicago hatred.

I have a feeling that Game 3 isn't going to be much fun to watch. Especially if the referees give in to the Wade special.
