Barrett swinging at the first pitch after someone walks in front of him. :x

doesn't bother me. his OPS on the first pitch over the last 3 years is .934.

i like those odds.

It bothers the hell out of me. You have to consider the situation. It was a poor AB.

Murton and Jones swapping corners?

Also, while Murton is learning RF, it makes sense to put a better defender in the other corner spot so Soriano can move a couple steps over to protect Murton, and that means Jones over Floyd.

I know I'm coming in late here, but I just wanted to point out that someone referred to Jones as the "better defender."

That's not a ringing endorsement for this roster.

I just saw pigs soar by my window.

For real isnt that a sign of the Apocolpse or something?

Bynum has got some pop. He hit a few dingers for us last year.

I think he had more errors than dingers, but whatever...

Well, there goes that, not that he really had a chance.

Applause for Marquis so far. Get out of this, please.

I'm not surprised by that-Bymum had 4 HR, 5 3B, and 5 2B in just 136 AB's last year. Power was the one thing he did pretty well.

nope. he hits well on the first pitch, regardless of the situation. you have to trust your better hitters at some point, and i trust him on the first pitch. the stats don't lie.
