OMG THE SKY IS FALLING !!!11111!!!1

/listen to yourselves

I don't know how high any team's winning percentages are when they go down 3 runs in the top of the 1st and they have Jason Marquis on the mound. :?

sure, for this game, but people are writing off Marquis for the length of the contract because of one bad inning

I think people are writing off Marquis because of one bad career.

Nice Sampson. Hit a guy in the hand and immediately attempt a pickoff at 1b.

wouldn't you? Soriano has almost been picked off about a dozen times already

Lou should have skipped Marquis.

Really.

It doesn't take a genius to guess that the Astros' 2-4 hitters are going to pound Marquis.

We're gonna go on a 3 man rotation, eh?

Zambrano can handle it.

No, not a three man rotation. :)

But you don't have to go very far back in baseball history to find a time in which there were no set rotations and managers often matched up pitchers against teams they had done well against in the past.

You mean before we had computers and numbers playing baseball?

Please, elaborate.

Marquis hasn't had the worst first inning today! although Jeff Weaver is facing the Red Sox

- J. Lugo walked

- K. Youkilis singled to right, J. Lugo to second

- D. Ortiz singled to right, J. Lugo to third, K. Youkilis to second

- M. Ramirez singled to center, J. Lugo scored, K. Youkilis to third, D. Ortiz to second

- J.D. Drew hit sacrifice fly to deep center, K. Youkilis scored, D. Ortiz to third

- M. Lowell grounded into fielder's choice, M. Ramirez out at second

- J. Varitek walked, M. Lowell to second

- C. Crisp ground rule double to right, D. Ortiz and M. Lowell scored, J. Varitek to third

WHY IS JACQUE JONES BATTING SECOND

HE DOESN'T HAVE A GOOD OBP ARGH

What's the other option that's better than Jones against RHP?

Murton, Theriot, DeRosa, Barrett - I'd rather have any of them. I'm still not convinced JJ is good, even against RHP.

yeah Cubs fans, going behind 3-0 in the first inning one game after going below .500 in your home opener, one year after losing 90+ games is no time to complain.

Can you blame fans for being a little dramatic after living through the last 2 years of crap?

No, I don't blame them. That's why I think it's a little ridiculous to start criticizing those who aren't happy with the start.

Great offense we have right guys?

Not so much..

Before that DP I thought we had the best offense in baseball. After that DP, I know that we suck and will end up in last place. Thank you.

I AGREE WORST OFFENSE EVER

WHO IS DRIVING CAR?

BEAR IS DRIVING CAR? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Would someone mind doing a play-by-play, not incredibly detailed, but what Jacque Jones actually did for instance. It would be much appreciated!

CUBS are on a pace to ground into 69 double plays this year..... compared to 135 last year and 129 in '05

Go CUBS !!

Way to find a silver lining. :D

Those numbers were bound to go down as soon as Neifi left the team.

Can someone possibly help me out here. When I try to access MLB.tv I get an error message saying "Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file". Any ideas?

Did you check the system requirements for MLB.TV on your computer? If you have an outdated version, that might be the reason for the error.

I just disabled WMP as my default player and it's working fine now. hanks for the advice.
