I was gone for the start of this inning. Did Marquis start the inning or did they start with Howry?

Howry started the inning.

I don't understand why Marquis couldn't go another inning. He was only at 82 pitches and he was pretty effective.

I thought they said 92.

Gameday says 82.

Yeah, I just checked ESPN too. I understood the yank when I thought they said 92, it doesn't make as much sense at 82.

These are the Cubs I remember, bloop single, WP, WP, go ahead run scores

78 wins

wow

What?

You know... they're going to lose a lot of games this year. Even if they're really, really good.

And they're going to look pretty bad in most of those.

But I'm glad that 3 games have given you enough evidence to conclude that this team will win 78 games. I wish I had that kind of clairvoyance.

Why take out an effective pitcher at 82 pitches. If it's Maddux, I would understand. Is Marquis cashed at 80 pitches? At least wait until he gets in trouble in the 7th to go to the pen.

Bullpen guys are coming in with frigid temperatures. Let the starter go as long as he can if he's getting outs.

Maybe he wanted to come out. We don't really know.

Agreed. Not to mention that the Reds had 6-7-8 coming up. I could see if the top of the order was coming up and Lou wanted a new pitcher in but with a low pitch count and the bottom of the order due up, it doesn't make much sense.

How can you guys stand to be this on edge during game 3 of a 162 game season? Especially with a game like baseball where failure is inevitable, frequent, and expected (unless you have Barry Bonds with a .500 OBP)..

Don't you wear yourselves out? I usually don't start to freak out about stuff until at least July, unless things get really, really bad early.
