by the way, in real life there is no way in hell that buster davis falls to the end of the 3rd round

I've seen about 10 mock drafts, and only in 2 of them was he picked in the first 3 rounds. I was planning to take him with my next pick though as he's absolutely perfect for the Colt's system being so short.

New England Patriots select CB David Irons, Auburn.

Samuel is on 1-year, as the franchise player. Not much depth, tired of playing Troy Brown at nickel. No LBs worthy right here. Was hoping the other Irons from Auburn would be here at RB to give Maroney a spell or Jonathan Wade, who I like better at CB. Lo. Booker was an option, but he's a lot like Kevin Faulk, who is already on the roster.

I seriously don't even care anymore. Someone else can pick for me

Marv Levy fell asleep. He traded his 3rd rounder to the Bears for their 6th rounder (don't tell him they don't have a 6th)

The Bills select Allen Barbre out of Missouri Southern State. They need a quality OT, and Barbre is quite an athlete at the position and should compete for a starting job almost immediately.

really??? I've looked at many mock drafts, and in only one of them was he not gone by early in the third round. Some had him as early as mid-2nd round.

take a look at some of these mock drafts done by people with a lot of time on their hands. I saw one that had Davis reaching the Eagles in round 3, and I looked through about 10 of them.

I think he's gonna be a real good player. If the Eagles made no moves at all and ended up with

S Michael Griffin

WR Steve Smith

LB Buster Davis

I'd be extremely pleased.

I actually read a newspaper account that says the Colts are seriously considering shocking the world by picking this player at 32. While I'm not sure I believe that, at this juncture he is great value for the club. With that in mind, the Colts select

LB-Justin Durant, Hampton

The Colts have been quite willing to go down to small schools to find talent. They have several starters that are from non-Division 1 schools, including defensive starters Robert Mathis and Antoine Bethea. Durant is quick, hard-hitting, and is very smart on the field. That fits in quite well with what the Colts like to have in their LB core.

Bears select

Lorenzo Booker RB FSU.

Perfect change of pace back behind El Ced.

I'd prefer Kenny Irons to Lorenzo Booker but that couldn't happen in this draft, sadly.

The Chargers select WR Aundrae Allison, East Carolina.

Justin Durant could be the 3rd most talented LB in this draft (behind Timmons and Willis). Really would like him on the Bears in the 3rd round....if he makes it that far.

HerbalK hasn't visited here since the 16th, so we should probably go ahead and pick for him. Willis, McDonald, and Wade filled some big needs and at this point I think they need to pick up a WR for Smith. Probably the best one on the board at this point is Jacoby Jones from Lane.

Still would have gone Booker. FSU backs usually do better in the NFL vs. College. They mismanage them down there.

bump on this thread. Can somebody pick for the 49ers please? I don't feel like I can be very objective on this particular pick.

Go ahead and pick. Looks like texascub picked Jacoby Jones already.

Didn't see that. Good-that leaves my pick on the board.

The Colts have needs at CB, RB, and WR left. With 3 fourth round picks, they should be able to fill all their needs. The best value left at any of those positions is:

WR Johnnie Lee Higgins, UTEP

Higgins is a speedster that could really excel in the slot in the Colts system. He gives the team another weapon to replace Stokley, and the worries about him not being able to play outside don't apply to the Colts.
