I'm not sure what's more sad: that they didn't feel that they could wait to include a World Series on there or that Neifi Perez made the cover.

Still looks cool, though.

They lose points with me for spelling Derrek Lee's name wrong.

This DVD set looks cool, but I'll also wait for the World Series DVD set.

....okay, I admit it, this'll probably make the "birthday wish list"..... :D

The set is $59.99 on Amazon.com and comes out May 29th.

Thanks to a gift card and some Sammy nostalgia, I already pre-ordered it. I'm never going to watch Lee's game from 2005, though.

It's a shame that they're only doing fairly recent games. It would be really neat to see some games from the 69 season get some Cubs legends in their prime.

The June 23rd game is "THE" Sandberg game, right?? Against Sutter and the Cardinals?? Please tell me that it is. I'd buy it just for that. I never got to see Kerry's game or the Sutcliff game so those will be great to see. I'd guess it might not fit in with the "spirit" of the concept but I wish the Bill Murray game was included too.

I'm pretty much a Cubs addict who does some pretty stupid things to satisfy my hunger for more things Cub. But I could never imagine myself sitting down to watch a DVD like this.

Why not?

It is. You can verify it by looking up the box score on retrosheet.org.

The set's out now. I watched the Ryne Sandberg game today (nice to watch a game where the Cubs actually win, even if it is an old one).

That's the original broadcast with Harry calling the game, right?

Costas called it, it was the NBC Game of the Week.

Oh okay, didn't realize that. So the DVD's include the original commentary right? I just don't want to buy the set and be surprised with some random guy narrating the games.

Yeah, they are the complete original broadcasts. I was somewhat disappointed to hear that they wouldn't all be re-dubbed by Joe Carter :D

Complete broadcasts, sans commercials.
