He has not looked good at all this Spring and there is concern he might not make the team. Hmmmm, the Sox might have to remake the commercial that's currently running on Chicago radio (about having 5-95mph firebreathers... it goes on to name Aardsma, among the others).

David Aardsma surrendered four runs in two innings of relief Monday to boost his spring ERA to 11.12. Aardsma, who was acquired in return for Neal Cotts back November, is in definite danger of not making the White Sox. He's allowed seven earned runs and 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings.

I kinda thought we got the advantage in the trade.Well, I was hoping Cotts would return somewhat to his '05 form, but, from what we seen, He's just picking up from where he left off..I just hope it's a ST thing..Both guyd are young. We just all have to see how it plays out.

Well Cotts looks to be the left-handed arm to replace Glendon, while Aardsma was replacable in a system of hard throwing righties...especially with Jeff ND now in the fold for the future and Rocky Cherry stepping up.

David Aardsma had 2 IP with 5 Ks. Seems like an even worse trade now.

take a look at the rest of his line. he walked a guy, then intentionally walked pronk. he was in trouble in the 9th.

judging the trade by 1 inning is not smart.

Aardsma may not make the team, but at least we can remember one funny thing about him:

It's just not the same here: http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_430911.jpg

Cotts did alright opening day. If we're basing them on their only regular season appearances so far with their new clubs, it's almost a wash.

He was up in the 9th with the bases loaded, and he gave up a 2-out fly ball that was caught at the top of the wall.

10 IP, 15 K, 4 H, 1 ER - David Aardsma

Pretty sure Cotts hasn't allowed an ER yet without looking at the stats.

I was against the trade at the start, but just have to live with it. Aardsma has closer's stuff while Cotts is a pitcher who has had just one real good year so far in his career.

Bob, your avatar paired with this picture is... appropriate.

David Aardsma can count this as the first time in his life that I have ever been measurably jealous of him.

I'd prefer to see her in the Cubs version of that outfit, however.
