oh well, i guess every good story needs a villain... I've still got my villain to root against.

Go Butler, UNLV, USC and Georgetown tomorrow (note that all the teams I'll be rooting for go against my picks except for G'town - guess I'm not willing to sell out the underdog for the prospect of winning $100)

I'll feel much better if Florida loses tomorrow, but with my luck they'll probably go all the way.

At times like this, I hate sports. Why couldn't I have grown up loving Duke, the Yankees and the Patriots? My life would be so much easier.

I apologize to everyone on the board for these horrible words, I'm just in a very depressed mood right now.

We've all been there.

Actually, some of us have never been anywhere but there.

Exactly how I felt about 4 hours ago...

You'll get over it eventually. I'm already partly over it. But usually, the morning after is the worst. Hopefully I don't break my hand from punching a wall.

The morning after is terrible, especially for me. I have a 45 minute drive to work and I always listen to the local sportstalk station. In the morning, all they'll be talking about is the game tonight. Thus I have to either relive every moment of this game or not listen to sportstalk (probably what I'll do).

Then, when I get to work, being the sportswriter, I'm expected to discuss the game with whoever wants to and, while that's normally an enjoyable part of the job, it'll suck in the morning.

The good thing is, my boss (an OSU fan) is on vacation so I won't see him again until Monday.

this is why many sports writers say they either won't wrote about their favorite teams, or simply cease to have favorite teams. It interferes with their careers

Luckily I don't have to wake up till noon tomorrow. I'm going to try to avoid reading the paper too. It's going to be depressing though on campus.

Depressing for you? We won nine freakin games this year!

Heh, we only won five games and that was fewer games than the football team won.

My biases toward my teams actually doesn't have an impact on my reporting. The teams I currently cover I never even knew anything about before I started covering them, but since I've become a fan of the teams.

It doesn't affect my reporting though. I actually don't see how they can be fervent sports fans and not have a favorite team of some sort. I can't help but root for the teams I root for.

So we lost Gus Johnson for James Brown.

...damn.

It is a mortal lock that one of these Midwest Region games will be a great game that we will wish Gus had announced.

Go Florida, UNLV, UNC, and Georgetown!!

This man speaks the truth.

Although I could certainly tolerate seeing Butler and/or USC pull off upsets.

There you go Butler! I hope they don't panic when Florida makes their inevitable run, but if any team doesn't usually panic, it's Butler (fewest turnovers per game in Division 1).

These might be the worst announcers ever in the Butler-Florida game. That's the 2nd time that the officials signaled for a timeout, and instead James Brown called it a jump ball and gave it to the wrong team. Not to mention, he said that Sidney Green was Mike Green's father from Butler, not the correct choice of Taurean Green's father from Florida. It's just brutal how bad they are.

Butler is reeling right now and Florida is up 1. No field goals in over 7 minutes for Butler.

This appears to be the type of game Butler wants though. I'm watching the Vandy/Georgetown game so I don't know the pace of the other for sure, but it seems to be a slow, low-scoring game - which favors Butler.

 Good stuff. Go Butler!

Oh well-Butler played awful for most of the half, A.J. Graves had some shots that he normally makes and has 0 points, and Florida is hot from behind the 3 point line, and Butler is still only down 6. That's not really that bad at all-if Graves can pick up his game in the 2nd half, it will be very interesting.

What channel is the game on? I've got the Butler vs. Florida game on CBS, but that's it.

CBS is airing both games in different regions-myself, I'm watching Georgetown-Vandy on my television and Butler-Florida online.
