Had Wilmont not crapped the bed, or IU made some free throws, they actually might have won that game. I never expected it to be that close.

Oh well-IU gave a valient effort at it. This was a good first season for the program-hopefully everybody will be back (save the seniors (Wilmont/Calloway/Suhr)) and with the new additions should make the Hoosiers a tough team to beat. Congratulations to UCLA-they will be a tough out, and played a very good game with amazing energy.

UCLA is a solid team, all props to them.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Today's games featured a pretty high level of excitement overall.

once again, coaches prove that they're idiots. You foul there. Period. You can't risk the other team scoring or getting a rebound and leaving you down 2 scores with no time left

I'm quoting myself again in case someone here becomes a basketball coach at some point. Please don't show that you could be outcoached by a clever 8 year old. foul in this situation. it's painfully obvious. I'm bruised.\

this is dumb on the level of barry bonds 2-4 years ago bunting with the bases loaded, and coaches do it all the time.

I was planning on adjusting my trip back to school tomorrow to account for the ND/Oregon game...but I guess I won't need to worry about that now.

The crappy part is that no matter how much I hate Winthrop, I need to root for them tomorrow for my bracket's sake.

Apart from the outcome of the IU game, I thought today was March Madness at its best. Close games all day, including one double OT and two regular OT games. Saturday the first weekend is frequently my favorite day anyway because of being a quadruple-header (as opposed to a mere triple-header on Sunday). Thursday and Friday is similar in that regard, but work usually prevents me from watching the afternoon games those days. Tomorrow will be hard pressed to live up to today's action.

Today was unbelievable in terms of entertainment. It totally made up for the well below average Thursday and Friday.

You hate Winthrop just because they beat your team? Jeez. I sure don't hate Southern Illinois.

There's a tad more to it than that this week, but I'll save you the story because it's long and probably way too petty. But I'm only 20 and have far from outgrown the petty stage in my life so... O:)

HAHA!! At halftime of the Tennessee-Virginia game, Gumbel was asking Seth Davis and Clark Kellogg a bunch which team had the most disappointing performance of the tournament. Clark ironically answered with Stanford. The irony? Clark picked Stanford TO UPSET Louisville in the first round but of course none of them made a mention of that today.

Well, we've played okay in the first half. We began very strong, but then completely fell apart for about 10 minutes. The refs calling anything and everything didn't help us a bit either, it seriously slowed the pace of the game which severely hurts us and helps Virginia.

We came on strong in the last couple minutes of the half, though, to cut the lead down to 3. Now we need to come out and avoid another horrible streak of not making anything. If we can do that, I like our chances.

EDIT: Oh, and J.R. Reynolds is a freak.

22 points in the first half was ridiculous. He looks like he's hurting though.

Yeah, injured his ankle in the first half. He hasn't done much in the second half so far. Much as I hate to see players from other teams get hurt, it's hard not to feel a little relief as he was absolutely tearing it up in the first half.
