I'm so damn pumped to see the cubs on TV. Hopefully I have my homework i need to get done, done by 2pm. Because God knows i'm not picking up a pen again until after this game ends.

Of course, the Cubs are sending two former White Sox pitchers and a Ozzie Guillen's best friend Rich Hill out there.

 

Yeah but Lou claims he didn't realize Rich was on the mound during the Barrett/AJ game. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know the ties with the other guys either.

 

Garland, Aardsma, and Sisco seems like a no brainer slap in the face to me. Or, possibly, he views it as flaunting what we gave up... I know it's constantly mentioned here that the Cubs were dumb to trade Garland... There's no way I could root for any one player over the Cubs.

 

Edit; In fact Lou said today that had he known/remembered about Rich pitching in that game last year he would have scheduled another pitcher.

Probably one of the first quotes from Lou that I really don't like.

 

"I'm looking forward to seeing Ozzie [Guillen, White Sox manager]," Piniella said. "He'll amuse me for a little bit. I like Ozzie. He's a good baseball man, a good manager. He's also entertaining."

 

Entertaining? More like annoying.

Am I the only one that reads a little grinning condescension into that statement? Or do I just have wishful thinking?

 

Yeah the first time I read it I thought Lou was saying Ozzie is like on of those little celebrity dogs. They are cute for a little while but then they just turn annoying. IMO adding the, "He's also entertaining" is a back handed slap with an opps sorry I didnt know you were standing there fake appology.

Murton in the 2 hole against a righty....I LOVE IT! I just hope when Floyd gets healthy it stays that way, but so far I cant complain much about Lous lineups(minus Izturis batting 2nd the other day) but I dont think that is goin to happen often. LETS PLAY BALL!
