Probably one of the first quotes from Lou that I really don't like.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Ozzie [Guillen, White Sox manager]," Piniella said. "He'll amuse me for a little bit. I like Ozzie. He's a good baseball man, a good manager. He's also entertaining."

Entertaining? More like annoying.

The first time Ozzie calls one of his guys out like he did with Hill and Barrett, we'll see just how much Lou likes Ozzie. Lou won't throw his guy under the bus like Dusty did.

Lou was on the Talking Baseball show on ESPN AM 1000 this morning. I cringed with all the praise and credit he gave to Guillen. I think he was just trying to be nice but I'm hoping he doesn't underestimate the way Ozzie "hates" (his words) the Cubs and more importantly, how much he hates losing to the Cubs. My hope is Lou takes all games seriously while giving special emphasis to rivalry games.

I so want to see a Cubs/White Sox World Series this year with the Cubs sweeping the Sox and Guillen being a big crybaby about it.

I hear ya but ANY kind of World Series winner for the Cubs (this year, next year, 2009, etc) would be nice. 8-)

I hope all of those former Cubs prospects get blasted all over the park! There's no coincidence in that pitching setup...

What have they done to deserve that? I know they play for the White Sox now, but aren't we being a little harsh?

No, I don't think I'm being harsh at all. They all play for an opposing organization. I nolonger root for them to do well and especially not against the Cubs.

The only reason Guillen is pitching them against the Cubs is because he's hoping that they will take an extra chip on their shoulders to the mound. Garland pitched in Thursday's game, after Buehrle, and even though he only pitched a couple of innings, I'm surprised that he was also scheduled to start tomorrow. I guess winning against the Cubs is more important than getting his arm ready to pitch under normal rotation rest...

Of course, the Cubs are sending two former White Sox pitchers and a Ozzie Guillen's best friend Rich Hill out there.

Yeah but Lou claims he didn't realize Rich was on the mound during the Barrett/AJ game. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know the ties with the other guys either.

Garland, Aardsma, and Sisco seems like a no brainer slap in the face to me. Or, possibly, he views it as flaunting what we gave up... I know it's constantly mentioned here that the Cubs were dumb to trade Garland... There's no way I could root for any one player over the Cubs.

Edit; In fact Lou said today that had he known/remembered about Rich pitching in that game last year he would have scheduled another pitcher.

Can't wait to see the Cubs on TV. I might have to get up early to watch this thing.

Get up early? It's on at 2. Are you like me?

I live in California so it's on at noon out here. And yes, that would be early considering the last three days I've gotten up sometime between 1 and 130.

If I were in Cali, I'd miss the first hour. Then again I have DVR now (thank God).

Am I the only one that reads a little grinning condescension into that statement? Or do I just have wishful thinking?
