Denver signed Travis Henry. Great Move by the Broncos, Henry had an awesome year last year, and will go bananas with Denver knee killing offensive line.

Thompson misses out on another RB...now there's rumors that we're talking to Detroit for Tatum Bell. Ugh. Supposedly we asked if the Bears were trading Thomas Jones, but he's reportedly "off-limits." Of course, that's probably only because Angelo doesn't want to trade him to a team within the division.

And it looks like the Patriots are interested in the Moss bidding now as well. Ted needs to get off his ass and start making some moves.

Heck, I'd love to see Thomas Jones on the Packers. With his stuttering step and constant looking for cut-backs, the Bears speedy defense would eat him up for dinner.

Is that before or after he runs for 80-100 yards, 2 tds, and catches 5 passes? Id rather eat glass then trade Jones to the Packers.

Some of the other big news of the day:

Wes Welker is a Patriot. He got traded from the Dolphins for a 2nd and a 7th round pick, and then the Patriots signed him to a 5 year, 18.5 million dollar deal. Speculation is rampant that the league quietly told the Patriots and Dolphins to "work something out" rather than have the Patriots use the poison pill in the contract, which the league is trying to get rid of.

Patrick Kerney signs a 6 year, 39.5 million dollar deal with the Seahawks=19.5 guaranteed. He chose the Seahawks narrowly over the Broncos.

I am extremely underwhelmed with Mike Reinfeldt as GM so far. Since he took over we lost Drew Bennett and Travis Henry, and didn't go after Nate Clements or Patrick Kerney.

There better be something good coming.

 It's amazing how quickly I've gone from very optimistic about the Titans to hoping we have some talent around Vince next year.

EDIT: Oh by the way, we broke the bank today and signed Kerry Collins. Watch out Indy, the division is ours. ](*,)

Vince doesn't need any help

I know, but Vince hates beating everybody by himself. He's a very humble guy who would rather share the glory. :D

I think Seattle is gonna be very unimpressed with Kerney. He reminds me alot of Wistrom. A small high energy guy, and Wistrom didnt workout to well for Seattle.

The run stopping ability of the Seahawks sure didn't get helped here. They need the offense to return to its high scoring levels in order for their formula to work.

Now THIS is a mock draft I can support!

13. St. Louis - Pat Willis, LB, Ole Miss

Stud linebacker could play strong side or mike.

I think that this is becoming much more likely with the LB they were going after Banta-Cain singing with the Niners. If they could get Willis in the 1st and and a NT in the second their D could be improved. As much as I like Willis though if Landry is there at 13 I think there is a good chance they could end up taking him.

I still don't understand this one. A 2nd and 7th for Wes Welker? He's a 3rd/4th receiver and average return man. Getting a 2nd for him is surprising.

No, not cool - Willis is my 2nd choice for Carolina to draft behind Quinn. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Panthers trade up a couple of slots if they want Willis and think STL will get him.

I don't understand it either. I doubt the Pats would have given up so much in a regular trade-Welker was a RFA, and for the Pats to sign him away would have required 2nd round compensation anyway, so the Pats were going to lose that. By giving up their 7th rounder as well, they were able to sign him to a much smaller deal than they would have had to by just signing him. The question is-what do the Pats see in him that they want to sign him in the first place? I'm not sure, but they are pretty good at finding talent, and so I'm worried to find out.

Maybe he promised to give the Pats a Dolphin playbook to look at.

The Chiefs have apparently given Trent Green the ok to seek a trade, though they haven't ruled out the possibility of his playing for the Chiefs in 2007...

Or they're just getting desperate. :D

Napoleon Harris signed a 6-year deal with the Chiefs guaranteeing him around $6-7 million.

Well, this is a fun day to be a Dolphin fan. I really would rather have drafted a pass rushing LB, but Porter is damn good, and should still be for at least three years of the deal. This, combined with the two picks just received for Welker, gives them a lot of leverage in the draft. I'm less inclined to trade the #9 for more picks, and there's good depth in OL talent out there. They may even get into position to trade up for Thomas now, who knows. In short, I love both of these deals, and the only detraction in my eyes is that they may have less money to sign a free agent OL. Getting a 6th for useless Dan Wilkinson doesn't hurt, either.

Daniel Graham-5 years 30 million, 15 million guaranteed-signed by the Broncos.

This makes me laugh-the Colts signed Reggie Wayne to a 6 year, 40 million dollar deal with 13 million guaranteed and were criticized just last year. Now Graham gets almost the same amount being a middle of the pack tight end? The market is insane right now-with the NFL salary cap, any team that stays out of free agency right now will be in much better shape down the road.

The NFL salaries are almost in the MLB Starting Pitching salary category.

Exactly, but MLB salaries can just keep going up and up-the cap is not going to go up by enough each year in the NFL to be able to justify this escalation in salaries-teams will be in salary cap problems by signing mediocre players to these huge deals.

that salary is exaggerated greatly. If graham played for 3 years and we cut/traded him after, it would be 3 years/18 mil + 6 mil in bonus to pay. Not that bad. Not great either.
