I'm definitely making working for the Cubs #1 on my job list whenever I finally graduate. Hopefully trying to get a job with WGN doing production in a booth, or just working a basic job with the Cubs involving game production. That Pitch f/x operator is right up my alley, but I haven't graduated yet, and even if I applied and they gave me the job, my parents would freak out if I didn't graduate. But then again I'd have a job I was going to apply for whenever I do graduate, so... whatev.

Thank you for the heads up, whenever I get ready to go out there I'll check out Monster's site.

Thanks mg. I'll have to bookmark that site as I'm graduating in a year and a half and would slit my wrists to work at Wrigley.

Sports Reporter. Too bad I don't live in Chicago or I would be all over that.

I read that....And it's for the 2006 season...

These are all part-time though, I doubt you could support yourself on one right?

I totally couldn't, but lucky for me I have a grandmother that lives in East Dundee and she buys houses and rents them out so I could probably rent a house for cheap from her and just commute to the games. Nepotism rocks.

I applied to both last year and didn't get a responce. I think its safe to assume that there are probably 500,000 resumes for each part time position. They probably end up hiring doctors and lawyers who are bored, not recent grads.

Curses! Eh, still doesn't hurt to apply. Then again I have a feeling if I want to break into the baseball biz I'll have to start in the minors... just like players! YAY!

I wonder if it's a misprint. They were all posted on Jan 7th...

I've had many friends that have worked, and still do work for the Cubs. Trust me, it's no picnic. Many have quit because they aren't the glory jobs you're thinking they are. And the ones that are still there complain about their jobs constantly.

Eh, if it sucks, I'll quit.

My husband has applied for the Stats Stringer position for the Cards every year since we moved to St. Louis. He is a software engineer who can alter his schedule to make every game and he hasn't even sniffed an interview.

My (cynical) guess is that these jobs go to the college age/recently graduated children of the owners or employees' friends.
