Hey, you need to chill out. I wasn't trying to be classless at all. If you read that into my statements, then that's you. I seriously want to know about the Bears playing in the conditions. Because that's all I ever heard about was how great they were in the conditions. You gave an explanation and I offered a retort. The fact that Jones and Hester had long runs does matter.

It doesn't matter what your intentions are, the result is the same.

Nobody ever said the Bears are good in rain. The cold and snow was an advantage against New Orleans mostly because the Saints never played in those conditions. The rain is bad for the Bears.

And the rain was good for the Colts? Hell, they're a dome team.

I didn't say it was good.

Seriously, go away.

no offense, but you're being somewhat irrational, and if anyone's escalating this into an argument, it's you.

No, if you have a problem discussing the game, then you go away.

What have you said about the game? You're complaining about how Bears fans are reacting to the game, not to mention, claiming I am saying something I didn't say. I'm not in the mood for arguing with a pestering fan of another team who doesn't have the common courtesy to interact appropriately with the fans of a team that just lost the Super Bowl.

What ended up being the guesses for crowd support for each team? Some guy said it was 80% Bears fans. Too high? Too low?

Somewhere around that. My friends and I figured three factors:

1) more snowbirds from Chicago are in South Florida.

2) more people with money in Chicago who can afford to make the trip and pay for tickets / hotels / parties.

3) more big companies have locations / headquarters in Chicago. A fair amount of Super Bowl tickets are corporate seats.

I've spent the last ten pages talking about the game! Talking about how I don't think Grossman is good for the future of the Bears and that they should go out and get Matt Shaub or something. I was pulling for the Bears last nite. I wanted them to win for numerous reasons. First off it makes the Saints look better. Second, I like the NFC. Third, a good many of my friends are Bears fans, and fourth, I was looking forward to seeing all of y'all enjoy a Bears victory.

If I was going to be classless I would have acted like some of the Bears fans on this forum acted toward me after the Saints game.

All I asked is why so many Bears fans that I see on TV are going on and on about the weather, yet their opponent was a dome team!

I don't know what you guys think, or what the media talk has been, but Rex Grossman is the reason the Bears lost last night. He's just awful.

It might have had the most "pre-game" posts of any game thread ever though.

rex wasnt that bad. he only made 1 bad pass really, the int to muhammad. the second INT came late in the 4th down by two TDs. Berrian was open but he underthrew him, but at that point he was just trying to make something happen to spark an unlikely comeback. He wasn't great, but he wasn't horrible. Unfortunately too many bears fans are blind to the fact that defense couldn't get off the field if their life depended on it as a main reason for losing. All year people blame rex and refuse to ever blame the D. Well the D was about as good/bad as rex in the super bowl.

I mean the criticism of rex has really gotten out of hand. I hear people saying he threw so many bad balls....well he only threw 8 incompletions, a couple of which were drops. If you are going to criticize him at least do it for something that he actually did wrong (bad exchanges with kreutz, ints)

First, the second interception (the one Bob Sanders picked off) came with about 10 minutes left in the game. While it was unlikely that the Bears were going to come back and win the game, fact is the game wasn't over yet. Ten minutes is more than enough time to get two touchdowns. I'm not saying it's likely considering how the Bears offense was playing, but it's possible.

Second, you can't just dismiss his second pick as not being a bad throw because you think it came late in the game and was just trying to make something happen. A good throw on that could have been a touchdown, or at least very good field position (Sanders picked it at the Indy 21), and all of a sudden the Bears are only down five with over half the fourth quarter still to play. That was a horrendous throw.

There was also the throw, that somebody else mentioned, where Grossman scrambled to his left and tried to throw it into double coverage and it was almost picked off. Don't get me wrong, I happen to agree with your overall assessment of Grossman. He wasn't good yesterday, but he wasn't bad either and could have played much, MUCH worse and he wasn't the only reason the Bears lost the game.

Fact is, we just didn't get the job done and the Colts did. I'm not going to crucify Grossman as the only reason we lost. He had a bad game. So did some other Bear players.

The coaches didn't do a particularly good job either.

We were just beaten, that's all. The Colts were better. Nothing else needs to be said really.

Here is the inevitable Jay Mariotti Rex bashing article. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I figured he would essentially try to run Rex out of town and say that the Bears need to draft a QB in the upcoming draft (though he did say Griese should be given the opportunity to win the starting job next year).

I think that was actually triple coverage! They showed that several times on one of the NFL Network post game shows.

Did anyone else think D. Manning played a good game? I thought it was one of his better ones as a Bear.

he seemed to be in position, alot better then before

What happened with the early wide open TD? I forget who was in coverage.
