One positive thing Rex did do last night is move out of the pocket. Granted, he made a stupid decision on one occasion, but he did step up or sidestep the rush a few times, which is something he didn't do much during the season...

Rex needs to learn to tuck the ball and take off sometimes too. Just because it's a passing play doesn't mean the ball HAS to be thrown. If it's not there, and you have a lane, tuck the ball, and get positive yardage. IMO, he didn't do that nearly enough this year. Plus, it'll make the linebackers think twice and have to keep their eye on him if they know he's capable of running for 6 or 7 yards.

the reggie wayne td was blown coverage by d. manning not chris harris.

Pretty sure it was Harris.

no it was definitely manning. i don't know what simms said, but if he said it was harris then he was wrong. manning was bad, as usual, and it cost this team dearly.

The Around the Horn panelists were actually bringing a lot of good points today, except for Jay Mariotti of course. I posted it because I was very surprised by this (again, except for Jay Mariotti :D ).

I take back what I said about D. Manning then. That play was an enourmous boner.

Trade Urlacher NOW!!!!

I don't buy that it was on Urlacher. I think that's more Urlacher protecting his guys.

too intoxicated to make a post on my blackjack while at the superbowl party..but HOORAY!!! One of my sports teams finally won a championship. It had been since the '87 Alford-powered Hoosiers.

Peyton was almost teary-eyed immediately after the game.

I just found a highlight video from SportsCenter and not only did they say it was D. Manning who blew the coverage but on one of the highlights it shows #46 (Chris Harris) running close to the endzone along with Charles Tillman. The free safety bit so hard there is no way he could be anywhere near the endzone when Wayne scored. Tillman was the CB, Manning was the safety that bit (I'm assuming FS) and Harris was the other safety.

In short, D. Manning blew the coverage.

i'm 100% positive that it was manning. he took himself completely out of the picture because he was locked up in man coverage and covered his man across the middle of the field, completely away from his cover 2 deep half responsiblities. tillman and harris were chasing wayne, tillman had the underneath zone and harris and the deep opposite half of the field zone.

The Colts tear through the ratings continues. They've had the highest rated regular season games over the last few years, had the highest conference championship game, and now the Colts-Bears Super Bowl has been reported the 3rd highest watched program in the history of television-only the Mash finale and the 1996 Super Bowl beat it.

What? The 99 Super Bowl isn't ahead of those programs? A travesty I say, a travesty.

Honestly, in terms of quality of games, there have been multiple better Super Bowls in the past 10 years. But, I guess it shows the fan base of each team is widespread.

I think the Bears fanbase contributed a wee bit too...

The Bears have a lot of fans but I'd say Manning was definitely the biggest draw.

Here's a bit of an odd question, but does anyone know who that white boy was that ran down Hester on his TD? That guy was FLYING.

Matt Giordano

Giordano is a badass. I'm not sure what his flaws are that kept him from starting over Bethea, but the dude can run and hit very well.

He's extremely awful in Madden, but that's probably not completely relevant. :D

That's definitely true-I'm just saying that when the Colts have 4 of the 5 highest rated regular season games over the last 5 years, the highest rated conference championship game ever, and the 3rd highest television program in the Super Bowl ever, it stands to reason that they are the nation's big draw. Of course, Chicago has a large and great fanbase that certainly made the game what it was, and they probably wouldn't have been that high if the Colts had played somebody like the Seahwaks for example.

From what I've seen of him, he doesn't always seem to have those great football instincts to use his natural skills to good use.
