Yeah, he went to the football program that I support and I still can't bring myself to call him either of his nicknames, and I still have to look up how to spell his name most of the time. So you definitely are not alone on that point.

Grudzielanek was long, but pretty easy. It's essentially just spelled out how it sounds. Samardzija is just weird.

 

But it helps me to think of his last name in 2 parts. Samard and zija. Just try to think of it that way and then when you need to spell his name just combine the 2 words.

i don't think there's any sources for it. but he was expected to make a decision around this time, and there's no other better explanation for a hendry press conference.

My guess is that if it was big, they would pick it up. If they were signing Drew to play center, or trading for Miguel Cabrera, it would be out there. But the fact that is hasn't leaked probably means it's quite minor, like the signing of a draft pick.

There are no guarantees in the MLB draft. If you get someone with his ability in the 5th round and get him to play baseball, that's a job well done.
