So who are CBS's lead broadcast team.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XLI

The game is scheduled to be televised in the United States by CBS with play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz and color commentator Phil Simms.[4]

Dear lord, if I wasn't a fan of a team going into the Super Bowl, that would be one hard telecast to sit through. (Which means if the Bears lose, I probably wont watch it)

Doesn't anyone else feel like the CBS analysts don't really care about the game going on down on the field?

This just in! The Weatherman on TV says that it's going to be a blizzard with up to 20 inches falling per hour during the early afternoon on Sunday! The New Orleans Saints, having nary a member of the team that has ever stepped foot outside of a controlled environment in their entire life, has forfeited!!

The Saints are the team I worry about most. Brees is a very good quarterback. The Saints have a lot of different offensive weapons. The Bears defense doesn't put enough pressure on the quarterback, which is going to give the Saints a lot of opportunities to put points on the board.

One thing that gets overlooked a bit, is the fact that the Saints are a much better team at this point in the season than they were at the beginning of the season. The Bears are not as good as they were at the beginning of the season.

Home field and some Bear weather is what I'll be pulling for this weekend. I think that might give us the advantage we need to pull off this game. We need to force a few turnovers at critical times. If it comes down to the kicking game, I like the Bears chances even more.

Last weeks game nearly gave me cardiac arrest. I'd really like a comfortable lead and pure dominance this week, but I'm not expecting it.

Bears 24

Saints 21

I see things differently. I see the Bears with nothing to lose playing loose while the Saints holding the hope of the world on their shoulders making mistakes and turning the ball over time and time again. The Bears will be given this game due to the Saints wilting under that pressure.

Defense win championships. The Bears have a better defense. Bears win in a romp. 38-10.

WOOHOO! Super Bowl!

You're a little sensitive about the weather, huh? I can't imagine how upset you would be if you couldn't watch TV without hearing how your team is going to lose this Sunday.

I'd rather hear that my team is going to lose all week that hear that my team is going to win all week, like I am currently hearing. I don't like it when all the analysts pick one team. Sports is made for upsets, and by all the analysts picking against the Bears, who shouldn't even really be the underdog, they've created an environment for an upset Bears victory.

None of it matters. It doesn't matter who the experts pick. It doesn't really matter how cold it is. What matters is which Rex shows up, and if the Bears can limit the Saints running game. The Bears have won every game where Rex hasn't been awful, and they have won a few of his awful ones too.

Article about Saints D which basically explains everything I've been trying to say about your wacko defense:

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/217481,CST-SPT-no19.article

Maybe the Saints' 11th-ranked defense gets shortchanged because of its contradictory nature.

The Saints are one of the most efficient teams in the league, for example, in forcing opposing offenses into three-and-out situations. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, they forced the opposition to punt after three plays at a 30.2 percent clip during the regular season, which ranked second behind Carolina. Throw in turnovers, and the Saints have forced a three-and-out or a turnover a third of the time.

That wouldn't seem to bode well for Grossman, who has struggled at times when forced to be patient.

On the other hand, the Saints have been vulnerable to big plays, giving up seven scoring passes of 31 yards or longer, which would seem to play into Grossman's hands because he has an affinity for throwing deeper passes.

The defense's performance in a 27-24 divisional-round win over the Eagles last weekend illustrated how incongruous it can be. The Saints allowed Jeff Garcia to throw for 240 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles had five pass plays and two running plays of 20 yards or more. Eagles running back Brian Westbrook rushed for 116 yards on 13 carries.

Keep in mind, however, that 11 of the 17 carries by Eagles running backs were for one yard or less.

Points For:

Bears - 427

Saints - 413

Points Against:

Bears - 255

Saints - 322

Record:

Bears 13-3

Saints 10-6

You can find all the stats you want about percentage of 3 and outs forced or percentage of runs for a yard or less, but you can't find a stat that matter more than the 3 above.

That's how freaking good the Bears defense was at the beginning of the year. It hides the last 4 games or so.

Our defense has sucked since Harris went down. It was headed downhill after Brown went out for the season.

Thank God we have an offense this year.

100% saints. this surprised me, but i havent watched much espn this year.

For some reason, the team that is 5-4 in its last 9 games, 2-2 in its last 4, is considered by ESPN to be the team that is playing the best of late. I don't get it myself. I guess it has to do with the fact that they beat the then ESPN favorite, Cowboys, and the most recent ESPN favorite, Eagles. But we're talking about a team that's in the bottom half of the league in rushing yards per carry and per game. They are also at the bottom of the league in rushing yards per carry and game given up. They aren't on any sort of hot streak. The whole things seems to be based on the idea that they'll pass their way to glory against the team which has given up the fewest passing yards per attempt this year, and has allowed the 3rd worst QB rating.

It's not that I can't see the Saints winning. They are good. They just aren't any reasonable person's idea of what a favorite should be. It's all hype and nonsense.

The defense shut down the opponents early in those 4 games, before taking big leads and playing prevent with 3rd stringers.

You guys talking about a win and the superbowl is really making me feel like we're jinxing the team. I will only say IF the Bears win when I talk about this game. I'm way too superstitious to say the "Bears will win."

Yeah, a lot of people fail to notice that. Those games, outside of the Green Bay game, which I could consider a throwaway game, were over long before the other team put up it's points

It was a big hit losing T Harris and Brown, but I don't think the D has sucked since then. We allowed some huge plays in the secondary without Tillman, Vasher, and Todd Johnson who are all back now. In the Packer game 14 of the points were on Grossman INT returns, so the D really gave up 12 that game. In the Tampa game they had 7 points late in the 3rd before Manning Jr, and Hester got burned, but they were filling in for injured starters who we now have back. The D today isn't what it was before the Brown injury, but it is far from sucking.

QFT...

I'm really hoping that we'll have a little luck on our side and have one of our 3 or 4 turnover games (which hasn't happened in a while), get a few short field or defensive scores so that the Bears wind up winning something like 31-17. It's certainly not the most unlikely thing in the world.

If not that, at least a 10 pt win, just to make all of these idiots who think the Saints are clear favorites look like idiots. I realize that the game is a toss up going in. I just want the Bears to make the idiots in the media who don't realize this look really, really stupid.

Obviously, I just want the Bears to win. But I would like it even more if the Bears would shove it down the whole country's throat. The Saints love is making me sick.
