if the AFC ends up being pats colts, we might not hear about the NFC championship game at all.

Not after Katrina. We'll hear a lot about the Saints.

The Saints are no doubt a good story, however it's going to be annoying to hear the Bears being painted almost as the "bad guys." I'm gonna enjoy this victory for the next few days until I start being nervous about the Saints game.

You gotta really be looking to see Grossman as "Otherwise mostly awful".

For comparison, here are the other passer ratings in the playoffs so far...

Peyton Manning: 39.6

Steve Mcnair: 49.9

Drew Brees: 96.2

Jeff Garcia: 88.2

Matt Hasslebeck: 66.9

I missed the articles about Manning, Mcnair, and Hasslebeck being "mostly awful". Grossman had an ok game. That's pretty much all anyone was wanting from him. Leave the guy alone.

I don't really care who thinks Rex was good or bad today, but FWIW, Grossman faced the second worst pass defense in the playoffs (Dallas was the worst). The good news is the Saints shouldn't be much better.

If the Bears do make it by New Orleans next week, they should match up with Indy better than they do New England.

What irritates me is the comment about them maybe not being the better team. The Bears have been a lot better than Seattle this year. They didn't play very well today, but they still won because they're a better team.

And they outplayed them if you consider total yards, 371-306, and first downs, 21-18. I am willing to bet that DVOA will say that the Bears were the better team today. They outplayed the Seahawks from the 4th quarter on.

From Gene's column

But Sunday at an unfilled Soldier Field (an embarrassing 6,659 no-shows on a surprisingly tame 32-degree January day on the lakefront)

What the hell, on one hand im mad at the Bears fans that didnt show up (every seat looked filled to me), and on the other I'm mad at Gene for needing to embarass the Bears fans by throwing out that comment which was rather unnecessary for the content in his article.

Great win for you Bear fans. Good game to watch, I thought a couple times the Seahawks were going to steal the victory, nope!

Can you believe a Packer fan actually pulled for the Bears today? ;)

Gett'n ready for a great game next week, should be exciting!

I'm guessing there were about as many no-shows in Baltimore, New Orleans and San Diego.

What the hell is his problem. Did the Bears do something to him when he was a child that angered him? This is the second slam job hes written about the Bears. I'm done with this shmuck.

It's all just the start of making the Bears look evil so the "feel good story of the year" Saints will become the media darlings. Expect a lot of anti- Bears talk this week. After all, Chicago wasn't hit by a hurricane.

What a game!

So sick of the haters. It has been fashionable to bash the Bears since they slowed down from their fast start. They have been the only team that has been judged more on their bad games than their good ones.

I knew this would be a tough game, but they managed to win. And Rex has shown what his strengths are. No Bear QB in recent memory could complete some of those huge passes. The TD to Berrian, the 3rd and 10 perfect strike in OT. Griese could only do that in his dreams. I could live with his weaknesses- he is bad when he's pressured- but he can get the ball downfield.

Screw the haters- the bandwagon hoppers. The Charger bandwagon, the Ravens bandwagon have been derailed. The Eagles bandwagon has crashed, and the Cowboys bandwagon went down a long time ago. The superbowl is still wide open. It will be a tough 2 games to win, but hey, they have the best record of all the teams remaining.

Well Said.

I hate that term when it is used in the playoffs "Winning Ugly"

The Bears played a hard fought game. They made some mistakes, but made a bunch of huge plays too, Grossman, the running game, the WR's, the defense..everyone.

Gene Wojocrapski is such a tool, the best part of him ran down the crack of his mommy's arse and wound up a brown stain on the mattress.
