WEEK 16: Bears at Detroit Sunday December 24th noon CST

if you listened to what ESPN says

The Eagles are going to the super bowl because Jeff Garcia is OMG WTF awesome. ESPN has taken the same position they did with Tony Romo, on its knees right in front of him

Eventhough New Orleans lost and the bears won, New Orleans only hit a bump in the road while the bears are terrible right now

The bears only have a "decent" defense because they have had poor outings the past 2 games. Hey sean salisbury, dont tell the everyone that we had a pro bowl CB and 1 of our safteys out.

The colts that they left for dead last week will destroy any team out there.

I didn't hear much of that, but ok.

He may have exaggerated some, but I've heard those kind of sentiments from ESPN.

Just stay healthy. We honestly cannot afford any more injuries. At all. One more DT injury and we're basically down to guys off the street. This is a heck of a way to run a railroad. Down to threadbare at DT and running the best one you have out of town.

Only the Bears.

The Pro-Bowl teams will be announced in full this afternoon at 4pm ET, but there's already an article that shows some of the leading vote-getters.

I'm pretty sure those votes just account for fan voting, which only accounts for a third of the total weight that goes into pro-bowl voting, but Bears who received the m ost votes at their position were

John Tait, T

Olin Kreutz, C

Robbie Gould, K

Devin Hester, KR

Tommie Harris, DT

Lance Briggs, OLB

Brian Urlacher, ILB (NFL's lead defensive vote-getter)

Brendon Ayanbadejo, ST

The '85 team sent 9 players, so if this stands, it's not quite a team record, but still not bad :D

Not sure how the Bears are "running the best one out of town". Last I heard, Ian Scott was just fine.

Plus, the Bears have been pretty patient with the Tank situation thus far. It's been the media pundits that have been calling for Tank to be run out of town.

Ian Scott lost his job to Tank because, well, Tank is just flat out better. Not saying I don't like Scott mind you.

Until last week, no Bear fan would have seriously doubted this. It's funny how people start to doctor their opinions when they want to destroy someone.

I honestly had not been the least bit impressed with Tank's play all year long. He's been disappointing. Yet this is coming from somebody who wants to see him stay on the team.

It's funny how some people's opinions always end with the Bears falling to pieces.

And yet, there's quite a few Viqueen (until last week) and Packers apologists, fishing for any excuse to get them to playoffs were they'll be a "dangerous" team. Funny, last time I checked the Bears are NFC #1 seed and the Viqueen and Packers are straddled with 8 losses.

I'd love to see the Bears get Philadelphia in the Divisional Playoffs followed by New Orleans in the NFC Championship. Of course, if the Bears, following such course, make it to the SB they'll be plenty of the NFC' representative is not it's best team talk.

Kick returner Devin Hester was the leading vote-getter among rookies in Pro Bowl fan balloting. Pro Bowl teams will be announced Tuesday, with eight Bears finishing as the top vote-getters at their positions: Hester, Harris, Brendon Ayanbadejo, Robbie Gould, Lance Briggs, Olin Kreutz, John Tait and Brian Urlacher.

You can gash their defense all the sudden? hahaha makes me laugh. We'll see what they are saying when we get Vasher and Todd Johnson back

I still love how much ESPN hates Rex Grossman

They have a poll that asks which of these young quarterbacks will be the best in 10 years? The poll lists most of the young quarterbacks in the league except Grossman. I'm not saying he will be the best, probably not, but it would be nice if ESPN would stop acting like he's in his 30's and a veteran who never made it until now.

Wait a minute, what's the Bears record again, 8-6?

Appearently. And with the monumental loss of Tank Johnson our team will simply fall to pieces, unable to even imagine winning a playoff game.

Don't forget RMJ and Hester will be their starting corners in the playoffs will certainly help make the team fall to pieces.

It's ok, I like that the team will be playing with a chip on their shoulder.

Drats for going home this weekend. I don't think there's much chance that New Hampshire picks up the Bears/Lions tilt.

sports bars take care of this problem.

I have yet to find a good bar with Sunday Ticket in NH. That and the fact that I'd feel guilty ditching my family on XMas eve to go drinking and watch football ;)

Bring them with.

"Can we open our opresents now?"

"You know the tradition son, not until halftime."

The Bears wish they lost 4 more games this year, that would mean they'd be on a relative hot streak by winning late in the season, and proving themselves against other near .500 teams. At 12-2, their record in the past 7 games is just 5-2, worse than their overall record. If they were, let's say, 8-6, and won 4 of their last 7, that would mean they would be on a hot streak, compared to their first 7 games, when they were just 4 of 7. Winning 3 in a row is not impressive when you've won 7 in a row already this season. 3 in a row would be really good though if you had lost 3 in a row at one point as well.

Philly must play Dallas this week, so one of those clubs is going to be coming out the new ESPN golden child, and the other will now be "finished" or at least no longer the latest hot commodity.

Vasher will be back. If Tank isn't, I don't see how anyone could think that doesn't hamper our chances. It's not just the loss of tank, it's having only 3 DTs in the rotation, only 2 of which are NFL-grade players.

I hate to say this, but go Cowboys (and Falcons, I guess?)....

I hate Jeff Garcia... and Philly's defense scares me more than the Giants' or Falcons' entire team.
