Wow. That's way too much for Jennings, especially since he's a free agent next year. Terrible deal for the Astros.

Miguel Acensio and Jason Jennings for Taylor Buchholz and Jason Hirsh? Wow terrible deal for the Astros. Enjoy that 1.50 WHIP Houston.
Houston also kicks in WIllie Tavares.

Jennings might be the third best pitcher in that deal.

Next year.

So what is worse, that deal, or the one for Theodore Roosevelt Lilly?

That deal.

Can anyone give me info on Bucholtz and Hirsch? I really don't know anything about them.

Buchholz is a decent starter that put up decent numbers at the MLB level last year, and Hirsch, also a starter, is the best prospect in their organization who dominated AAA last year.

and he was tied with Marquis the same guy the Cubs paid $7M a year for till '09 is over.

Buchholz is a back-end rotation starter at best.

Jason Hirsh had the potential to be the #2 starter on the Astros. Now he's likely got the potential to be the #1 starter on the Rockies. I can't believe they threw him, Buchholz, and Tavares for essentially Jennings (Asencio isn't really worth anything).

The Disastros got butt raped.

What do you think?

Me? Think? Are you serious?

The Strohs deal is way worse.

So does Burke play CF?

Interesting.

Hirsch is really interesting.

I'm surprrised you guys like Buchholz that much. His 5.89 ERA for Houston this year doesn't look that great.

He's spend part of this year, as well as 05 and 04 in triple A, and didn't have an ERA below 4.81 in any of those seasons. And this year was his first AAA season where he nudged up over 7 K's/9. Is he really that good?

I don't recall Round Rock's reputation, is that a monster homer-dome place? For some reason I'm think back in it's AA days, RoundRock was the one place in the Texas League where pitchers had a fair chance. Is that no longer true?

Is he really that jazzy of a prospect?

Hirsch, he's very interesting obviously. I'm just wondering whether Buckholz is just a guy, like tossing in Mateo, or whether he's a real value in his own right.

Wow...trading Hirsh for Jennings would be a bad deal. Trading Hirsh, Buckholdz and Teveras for Jennings is dum, dum, dum, dum, dum.

I don't really think Buckholtz or Taverez are worth much of anything. It's all about the prospect in my opinion.

yes, it will be disappointing facing the Astros with only one terrible OBP guy in front of Berkman and Lee. c'mon Phil, Adam Everett deserves the top of the lineup. great handler of the stick he is. and Biggio is your mainstay at the top. don't change a thing.

I'd just as soon the Astros kept Tavarez.

To me, it's about giving up 3 prospects for a 1 year rental. Stupid.

The Cubs did it last year with Pierre, so I guess it was Houston's turn this year.
