any decent FA DT's out there?

I'd rather spend the money on Briggs.

Briggs is going to get franchised. If they dont the Bears are waaay to nice.

Bryan Robinson? He sucks but thats all i can think of right now. He might be playin i dunno.

I hope the Bears franchise Briggs.

Not sure about the FA market, but I believe Ian Scott is a RFA or a regular FA this offseason.

Frankly, I like what Angelo has done in the draft at DT, if the Bears feel they need another DT, I'd rather they go that route.

Anybody know anything about this club? Whats it like?

8 minutes and the dude is dead? Thats a short period of time to piss somebody off to get shot if you didnt know them. I wonder if he (Posie) knew the assaulant. From what i remember he had a wife and child, thats too bad.

it dosent take much at 1am with a club full of drunks who think they are hard asses.

Put Mark Anderson at DT and see what happens.

While somewhat amusing as a joke, Alex Brown has played some DT, and may play some more.

I wouldn't minda line that has 3 pure defensive ends rushing the passer.

Against the run? Uh oh.

I dont like I2 at DT all that much. I think we are going to have to see what this Garay guy does. Brown at DT is too undersized. That seems like the best idea movin him there and Anderson at DE but im not all crazy about Brown at DT. 3rd and long ok, im ok for a test. Is it me or does it seem Boone just cant handle 50 snaps. He slows down hardcore. Could be just my perception.

There was a lot of talk that i read going into this year that Ian was underappectiated and very techical in his run support. That was good depth with Tank. Tank made his way in this lineup because he blows plays up better. Losing Tank sucks crap after losing Tommie.

Play 3-4.

Wale, Scott/Boone, Brown

Briggs, Urlacher, Hillenmeyer, Anderson (blitzing)

Anderson can'd handle that.

We absolutely don't have the personell for a 3-4, our d-line is too small, and you really think Scott/Boone can be a nose tackle for a 3-4?

Ya, right.

From what we've heard so far, I'm not sure this is going to make Tank miss any more time this season unless Lovie and the Bears are trying to make a point

from what i've heard, tank may be lucky to suit up for the bears ever again.

one chicago writer is speculating that he'll be deactivated for every game here on out and then cut, much like the eagles did with TO.

Speculation is exactly that. Speculation.

However, I don't know how the Bears are supposed to deal with this. If they *do* inactivate Johnson on their own (i.e. outside of the NFL's authority), then it becomes a union issue. The union can file a grievance on Tank's behalf---and the only reason they didn't in the TO situation was because TO himself didn't want to play for the Eagles any more.

The NFL isn't going to do anything until the facts come out in the justice system.

So after this week, it becomes a cloudy situation. If Tank wants to play, and the Bears just inactivate a healthy player without court-solid facts to back them up, then there could be trouble.

Ya, right.

We've still got 3 DTs. Scott, Boone, and Izzy. We're pretty thin without Tank, but it will be a 4-3 alignment.

We'll need to blitz to get any pressure whatsoever, so Chico better use these last 3 games to start getting his blitz packages polished and in good working order.

Even though it goes against everything Lovie believes in as far as DTs, I'd rather see a run stopping big DT like Wilfork over a quicker DT like Johnson.

while the 3-4 isint a good option, it wouldnt hurt if they tried it a little the last few games to throw kinks in playoff plans.

I second that. Even at 100%, this team is weak against power running games with big/good blockers

Per Fox Chicago's pregame show:

OUT:

John Tait

Tank Johnson

Todd Johnson

Nathan Vasher

GAME TIME DECISION:

Muhsin Muhammad

Thank god we're playing the Bucs...

same here, , i think they should rest 'em for the playoffs.
