Wow....Ricky Williams made fun of Deuce as a player in front of the Saints team when Deuce first came up as a rookie... Williams really is a scumbag apparently.

Wow on the kneel downs.

San Fran did that against us too at the end of the game. Never saw that before until today.

Details for those who didn't see?

We had the ball at the 49ers 5 at a little more than 2 mins to play. We kneeled down 3 straight times and turned the ball over on downs. They had about 50 seconds left in the game and they proceeded to kneel down two times to end the game. Usually, QBs and WRs try to pad the stats at the end even though the game is in doubt. I was somewhat amazed that they just decided to kneel down to end the game.

2:30 left in the game, Saints on Cowboys 5 or 6 and they just kneeled until they turned it over with about .30 left. Then the Cowboys just kneeled.

Well that's anticlimactic. I thought that they did a look out block and Brees dropped back and taunted them with the ball or something.

This has been a GLORIOUS day of football for me.

The hated Colts fall in completely demoralizing fashion. They have zero shot at the Super Bowl with that run defense.

The Cowboys get routed. Romo's QB rating takes several dips. Excellent. No more "best in the NFC", plz.

Come on Bears. Make it a clean sweep of the NFC West, and make me a happy man with a good Grossman performance.

I think it was safe to say the Chargers were the best team in the AFC before the Colts embarassing performance today.

Bleh, whatever. I still hate them, because they've always played one-dimensional football and people have been praising them for years for doing it.

The NFL has taken severe measures to get Peyton Manning a Super Bowl ring, and now that window of opportunity is closed. (I'm still suspicious of that call in the playoffs against the Steelers. )

Enough of that noise. The Colts are done, and the world is right again. You have to be able to run the ball and stop the run to be competitive in football. No more 49 touchdown seasons. I feared for a watered down version of arena football after 2004, but thankfully that didn't happen.

What's with all the hatred for Peyton Manning? The guy will go down as one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game when he retires. He's the best QB in the game right now (I might give you Tom Brady but that's it). I can understand not liking a team - although in your case, as a Bears fan, this Colts hatred befuddles me - but it's not like Manning has done anything to make somebody hate him like you appear to. He's never been arrested. He's never had any off or on the field issues. He's not a bad teammate and seems to be a genuinely good guy. Like I said, I just don't understand your dislike of the man.

Plus he stars in some of the best and funniest commercials to be made in years.

I guess I'm a little confused why Bear fans would want the Saints to win yesterday. A Saints loss would have all but guaranteed the Bears the #1 slot in the NFC.

Now if we lose tonight, we're only 1 game up for HFA over NO. A Dallas win would have been preferrable.

You do know the Colts run the ball more than they pass, don't you? They have had one of the leading rushers in the NFL most of the last 9 years, and possibly could have had one this year if they didn't go with the 2 back system. In 3-4 games this year, they've had to pass the ball a great deal because the running game has been completely ineffective, but that hasn't happened very much over the last few years. The 49 TD thing? The Colts ran the ball if I remember right about 55-60 percent of the time in the red zone that year-it's not their fault the first time they dropped back to pass it was a TD almost every time.

how does the tie breaker work if both teams have the same conference record? if the Bears still have the tie breaker over NO, it would have been six of one, half dozen of the other.

nonetheless, I don't want to have to face both a good football team and the refs during a playoff game, and that's exactly what would happen if the Romo-TO-Tuna show faces the Bears in January. will probably happen with the Bush-Breese-postKatrina show too, but not to the extent of the Romo-TO-Tuna show.

The next tie-breaker is common games, minimum of four, then strength of victories. I think it would come down to strength of victories because the Bears and Saints have both won all their common games (TB, GB, SF) although if the Saints were to lose to the Giants in Week 16, that would give the common games tiebreaker to the Bears.

Not to nitpick, but the Bears haven't beaten TB yet.
