seriously, why is he so desireable?

i mean, i don't get why anyone would ever consider him a better player than ramirez. can we get a sox fan's opinion on this?

his power numbers are pretty good, but he's pretty much far far behind ramirez in every offensive facet of the game. and he's not that much better defensively, especially after the back thing.

Who considers Crede a better player than Ramirez?

Young and cheapish. Doesn't strike out much considering the moderate power he has. He's learned to man the hot corner pretty darn well.

That said, I don't like him near enough to acquire him. And he's certainly not as valuable as Ramirez.

Maybe because he was on a world series winner? His 2005 postseason stats are decent (the ones people who "rate" look at -- BA, HR).

He performed well under the spotlight or some crap like that I guess.

Just about every White Sox fan, so pretty much almost everyone on Chicago Sports radio.

I tend to not listen to the idiots on the radio and all the White Sox fans I know love Crede, but know he's not nearly as good offensively as Ramirez.

Wow, I did not realize how terrible he was at getting on base. he set a career high this year with a .323 OBP? That's garbage.

He managed a .828 OPS and an OPS+ of 108, both highest since 2002 when he had .826 and 112...in 53 games (209 PA... 200 AB though (8 walks, 1 SF)).

Yeah, a really great player there, much better than ARam...

obviously many of you have no idea just how dirty Joe's uniform gets on a regular basis. gritty. tough. hustler. bow's his neck don't you know.

sorry to unleash so many Hawk-isms on you in one post. early last year, North annointed Crede the award of best thirdbaseman in Chicago, and it stuck.

I just thought the same thing. I was telling one of my Sox fan friends that I don't understand why Crede is hated by some of their fan base, and then I looked at his stats. His OPS this year was ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE points less than Miguel Cabrera.

It may be unfair to compare with Cabrera, but for someone that is talked about so much I'd have expected more.

Every time I hear his name I can't stop thinking of V For Vendetta.

"We are being buried under the avalanche of your inadequacies, Mr. Crede!"

Other than that. Crede's nothing to gawk at, but he's not someone you should take for granted either. Good player. I've only seen him overrated by White Sox fans though... and hated mostly by Yankee fans, only because he won the Silver Slugger and A-Rod didn't, which I find amusing that they'll stick up for A-Rod winning the Silver Slugger but will lynch him the moment he steps up to the plate

All season I've been praying we unload Crede at his highest value and pick up the incredibly underrated, undervalued, and underappreciated Morgan Ensberg.

Ensberg loves him some Minute Maid Park. Is he really much better than Crede away from it?

You mean the Morgen Ensberg who posted a .782 OPS away from MMP last year?
