PSU vs. Tennessee.....again. I was hoping for something new.

USC vs. Michigan will be 100 times better than OSU vs. Florida, a game I'm seriously contemplating not watching at all.

I'm sick to death of playing the ACC every year in the bowls. Some of these tie ins really stink. IMO it should go right down the line BCS wise:

OSU vs Florida

Michigan vs LSU

USC vs Louisville

Wisconsin vs Boise St

Auburn vs Oklahoma

Good games IMO even though the voters still have too much power to determine who goes where.

1. I didnt know those 2 teams play against each other freqeuntly. Well its a good opportunity for PSU to prove themselves other than the 4 tough losses to top 12 teams.

2. There seems to be a lot of people in and even outside of B10 that thinks this game is going to be a OSU route.

I am a big SEC homer and I think Ohio State is by far the best team in the country. I think they would win by 10+ over anyone in the country. Yes, I am aware that the Michigan game was a 3 point game, but I just don't see them getting any closer, rather I see it getting worse the next time (should there have been one).

Predictably, Charlie Weis ranked ND 8th (their actual ranking was 11th), although Phil Fulmer ranked them 7th and three other coaches (including strangely enough John L. Smith) ranked them 8th as well, so at least it wasn't too glaring.

Steve Spurrier continues his campaign against all things Dome by ranking the Irish 16th. Larry Coker ranked them the 2nd-lowest at 15th.

Oh wow, I hadn't realized BSU coach Brady Hoke had a ballot. The former defensive coordinator at Michigan unsurprisingly put the Wolverines number 2, as did Lloyd Carr himself.

I believe they've played each other in a Bowl game at least twice in the last 10-15 years. Not frequent, but they've played before

EDIT:

PSU beat the Vols 42-17 in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl and 31-13 in the 1993 Citrus Bowl. They've also played Auburn twice in that span

I fail to see how either point is even worth mentioning.

It was a simple comment, no need to rip him for it.

I'm not ripping him. I said I don't see the point. The tone of the post reflected annoyance at coaches making absurd rankings.

You can't spell Citrus without UT!

Penn State played Alabama 3 times, twice in the Sugar Bowl during the Bear Bryant era. Aside from that, they've played nobody more than twice, although this will be the third time facing Tennessee.

Sorry to the Mizzou fans but I would looooove Oregon St. at -4.

In a quick glance over the bowls in the paper today I have the Big East going 5-0. Cuse will be happy, but man they really did get screwed over on matchups.

Other games:

Northern Illinois vs TCU (-13)

BYU (-5) vs Oregon

Troy vs Rice (-7)

East Carolina vs South Florida (-3.5)

San Jose St vs New Mexico (-5.5)

Utah (-3) vs Tulsa (like tulsa here)

Arizona State vs Hawai'i (-8) - Over/Under of 75! awesome

Middle Tennessee St vs Central Michigan (-8) - what's the point?

Oklahoma St (-2.5) vs Alabama

Kansas St vs Rutgers (-7)

Texas A&M vs Cal (-5)

Kentucky vs Clemson (-10)

Houston vs South Carolina (-7)

Purdont vs Maryland (-3.5)

Minnesota vs Texas Tech (-7) - minnesota

Navy vs BC (-7) - I like Navy, but they can't beat good BCS teams

Iowa vs Texas (-11.5) - Iowa; Ferentz is a great coach

Va Tech (-3) vs Georgia

Nevada vs Miami (FL) (-3) - will Miami bother showing up?

Nebraska vs Auburn (-3)

Penn State vs Tennessee (-4.5) - sorry, I love Tennessee at this line

Wisconsin vs Arkansas (-1.5)

Ga Tech vs West Virginia (-7) - always bet against Reggie Ball

Western Michigan vs Cincinnati (-8.5)

Ohio vs Southern Miss (-7)

So, Vegas thinks the five most lopsided games are:

1. TCU-Northern Illinois (should've been fat Kansas coach, not NIU!)

2. Texas-Iowa

3. Central Mich-MTSU

4. Clemson-Kentucky

5. Louisville-Wake

and the five most even matchups are:

1. Wisconsin-Arkansas (looking forward to this, even more than some of the BCS games)

2. Michigan-USC (must think it's a home game for USC)

3. Oklahoma St - Alabama

4/5. Nevada-Miami, Nebraska-Auburn, Va Tech-Georgia, and Utah-Tulsa

The last paragraph was a throwaway comment, but you're correct about the rest of my post.

I have a feeling that -9 line is more because they want action from ND fans than that they actually think ND is worth a crap enough to keep them that close.

Yeah, I'll probably have to get in on that one as well. Hopefully the line will drop by a point or two before the game.

It looks like the gambling public seems to think that Florida is not the 2nd best team.

Those were the 2 best teams last year. Try this. UM was a 6 point dog AT Columbus. Florida cant even match that on a neutral field. Thats about a 5 point swing if you factor in HFA. So yeah NUN has a very valid point about the betting public.

I actually predicted Texas to beat USC last year.(I am not going to find it from last years post) Strangly enough I think that USC was a substantially better team. Vince Young just had a remarkable ability to win games almost single handily. He actually did it the year before against Michigan in the Rose Bowl also. In the case of this years game there is no part of Florida's team that I think is better than Ohio St. If they put up one of those graphs that list who has the better QB, RB etc etc the only position that I would put in Floridas column is defensive back. I just do not see Florida winning this game. I dont even see them covering the spread.

Not to mention how good Tressel has been in big games as the Ohio St coach
