I'm in a points-per-reception league at work. Going into tonight's game, I had 98 points and my opponent had 102. He has Steve Smith, and I have Brian Westbrook.

I cringe every time Delhomme drops back to pass.

Gigantic, monstrous drive to end the half. Caught a break with the interference IMO, but I'll take it. 14-7 going into the break.

could jake delhomme intentionally ground it more? could he whine more? what a tool

I didn't see the 2nd grounding. The 1st one was grounding, but the 2nd one, Sportsline had as intended for Gaines. Not sure about that one.

The only people within 10 yards of it were offensive linemen/eagles. the nearest receiver in a general line with the ball was about 25 yards downfield. It was an easy, easy call

assuming there was a TE on the right side who was blocking, he was probably closer (and the pass was well to the left)

I think that was clearly interference.

It was a call they typically don't call, but it was grounding-he only threw it about 1/3 of the way to the receiver with nobody to impede his motion.

call it on that endzone play, you have to call it there.

Why do we insist on adding a degree of difficulty to every game? We dominate the game for long periods of time and then give up the big play to let them back in it.

TD DEANGELO!!!!

Wow...this is an ugly game. Carolina may make the playoffs, but they won't get past the first round.

Don't get your hopes too high on that. I said the same thing last year multiple times. And that team was less talented.

A nice big F-U to the media idiots trying to create a QB controversy last week, BTW.

18/29, 218 yards, 3 TD

The thing is, if Delhomme gets hot, Smith is hard to stop and that can lead to a prolonged playoff run. On the other hand, if Delhomme is off his game, an early playoff exit wouldn't surprise anyone.

Carolina will probably be the most feared team in the NFC just because of their potential.

I think the potential of the Bears, Cowboys, Saints, and Seahawks is far more scary than the Panthers. Carolina is just ok.

granted you posted this a little while ago, but

I didn't see most of the first quarter, but other than the freakish drive at the end of the half, the Panthers are getting waaaay out played for most of what I have seen in this game.

not sure how you dominate anything with 1 rushing first down on offense

Hey nd, I'm sure you've answered this many times before, but how'd you become a Panthers fan. I'm just curious.

I lived in South Carolina when they first came into existence. Before they came around I was a 49ers fan (thanks to my mom, who rooted for them just because ND alum Joe Montana played for them). I gave up the Niners right after they won Super Bowl XXIX, so let no one ever think I'm a fair-weather fan.

Jjg, Carolina was dominating the game defensively before Philly's final 1st-half drive. The Eagles had punted all 5 drives previously.

21-17.
