Now, if Carolina is the team I think they are, they're going to go to Philly and beat the ever-living crap out of them to make the pundits think they're among the best teams in the league again.

Then in week 14 they'll completely crap out against the Giants, breaking NY's now 4-game losing streak and remaining a game behind New Orleans in the South.

Oh, and Oakland has a good chance to fall out of the driver's seat.

Yeah. This was one of the games I was worried about them winning.

Right now I have to believe that Detroit is in the drivers seat for the #1 pick.

Remaining opponents:

Detroit (2-9): at New England, Minnesota, at Green Bay, Chicago, at Dallas

Arizona (2-9): at St. Louis, Seattle, Denver, at San Francisco, at San Diego

Oakland (2-9): Houston, at Cincinnati, St. Louis, Kansas City, at NY Jets

Tampa Bay (3-8): at Pittsburgh, Atlanta, at Chicago, at Cleveland, Seattle

Houston (3-8): at Oakland, Tennessee, at New England, Indianapolis, Cleveland

Cleveland (3-8): Kansas City, at Pittsburgh, at Baltimore, Tampa Bay, at Houston

A win by any of the teams currently with 3 wins likely takes them out of contention so they have no room for error. I can see Oakland's defense playing well enough and winning them a game or two like what happened against Pittsburgh. I can only hope that Aaron Brooks will screw it up.

Wow. Detroit isn't going to win another game.

I could see them beating the Vikings and Dallas (I believe that's who they play week 17) if Dallas has the #2 spot locked up and nothing more to gain or lose and therefore rest their starters.

That's definitely going to be a factor with some teams (Chicago, Dallas, San Diego, Indianapolis). Not saying all of those teams will rest players but the possibility exists.

Yep, that's why I'm glad Miami plays Indi in Week 17.

Well, Detroit hasn't beaten Minnesota since 2001, which doesn't bode well for their hopes to win that game. What's funny is that Calvin Johnson may be the best player in the 2007 draft, but Detroit just CANNOT take another WR in the first round. If they get the #1 overall pick and I were them, I'd trade down and try to just draft O-line, O-line, O-line. The Jets picked 2 first round OL and it's been very beneficial for them. The Lions have some talent on offense, but their line sucks.

What I think they'll do, if they have the #1 pick, is pick Brady Quinn. If they do that, I hope they address their OL problems via free agency, or else Quinn would have a rough time there.

Other thing to note is there are some really good OL out this year (Thomas from Wisconsin, Long from Michigan, Blalock from Texas, perhaps a guy from USC), and some bad teams with truly incompetent O-lines (Lions, Raiders, Cardinals).

Anyone know what game will be aired on CBS at 3 (in Chicago)? I'm hoping Dolphins vs Jags!

Their only other option would be Houston @ Oakland, and I can't see CBS showing that one anywhere outside of the Houston & Oakland markets.

A loss to the Jets would pretty much put us on life support for any chance at the playoffs.

But with a win, we have a chance of going back to just 1 game behind the 6th and final spot in the NFC.

I'll pick Cincy over Baltimore whatever the spread is. I'll get to the rest on Saturday.

(This Thursday night thing is really going to be confusing)

Cincy is favored by 3 at home. I'll take Baltimore (+3).

Grrr...SF vs. New Orleans!?

Could be worse. I have KC-Cleveland over the Jets-Packers game and I have the Cardinals-Rams over the 'Queens-Bears.

yay, those two games should be real fun to watch.
