A BS flag on 3rd and 12 on "illegal contact" when the pass was uncatchable burns the Packers as two plays later, the Seahawks get their first TD of the night...

21-19 Packers, a little over 6 to play in the 3rd.

I didn't see it. I may be wrong, but I don't think the pass has to be catchable on illegal contact penalties. I think that is limited to pass interference.

And that Favre INT is the dagger in this game.

4-7...

and most importantly eliminated from the NFC North

Hopefully you guys can beat Minnesota on Sunday.

I haven't given up hope yet on a wild card spot yet...if we win out, we should still get in and we have a legit chance to win all 5 remaining games. And yes, I think we can beat the Bears, but only because they should and probably will be playing practice squad players for 45 minutes in that game.

Depends if the Bears can actually take care of business on the games up to that final weekend.

BTW, when I watch Favre now, it's becoming obvious he's lost a lot of zip on his passes. That arm is finally beginning to show its age.

I was actually rooting for the Pack last night, because I consider Seattle more of a threat to the Bears for HFA. Unfortunately, that defense in GB is just terrible. Way too lightweight for a ballclub like Seattle.

It didn't help that Barnett was out. Our run D has been pretty effective this year; it's our pass D that has been awful. Yesterday, it was the pass D that was solid and the run D that sucked. Their O-line just manhandled our front seven all game long.

Did anyone see that penalty on the Packers guy for "roughing the passer" last night? What a joke. Changed the momentum of the game, and watching the Giants game, I know that Kiwanuka stopped tackling Vince Young because he was afraid of getting flagged. The NFL really has to do something about this, or two years from now we'll just have QBs wearing red jerseys so that they can't be hit at all.

That penalty was huge because that would've been a 3 and out for the defense and the offense would've been getting the ball back, down only 3, with a little over 6 to play. Of course after the penalty, the Hawks march down the field and get a TD putting the game out of reach.

The penalty was definitely BS and I agree that these roughing the passer penalties are getting way out of hand.

well, PTI did remind me of it, but I was talking to my housemate about the same thing last night. I've seen two players now let go of a quarterback because they were afraid of getting a penalty. I saw a play a few weeks ago where a Steelers lineman basically fell at the feet of the opposing QB and got flagged for it.

If a guy launches himself headfirst at a quarterback's head, then yeah, flag and fine him. But if his hand hits the quarterback's head, that should not be a penalty, especially when the QB ducks into it. The NFL has been so reactionary to QB injuries. What happens when a QB hurts his arm when it gets hit as he's trying to throw - no hitting the QB's arm? It's freakin football. People are going to get hit. If you don't want QBs getting hurt, then just put two flags on the QB's belt and call him down when somebody grabs one.
