Wow! This is probably the best day for the Cubs since Opening Day this year.

It barely eclipses 'goodbye dusty day' just because Aramis was so crucial.

Wood has absolutely filthy nasty stuff. Id hate for tha to leave this team. Im really glad he is back. He cant absolutely be scary if he is healthy and i like the incentive laden deal. Even if its like Millers id be happy.

Wood is my favorite pitcher, and has been since '98. I'm very happy he's going to stick around. I also have ever-growing respect for him for coming back when some team surely would've offered him more money to start and appealing to his ego or whatever. He's as true a Cub as I've seen.

If Wood continues to have problems this year, I hope he just considers hanging it up. He needs to consider his future, and his family. Seriously, with all his arm problems will he even be able to lift his grandkids someday?

He can pay someone to lift them.

Kerry showed he was loyal too.

I'm really hoping he can regain his form.

Excellent news - that's a very reasonable contract. Another ray of hope for 2007.

What a good day...glad nobody jumped the gun on Hendry...LOL

He still has a ton of work to get back to par. We need 2 more starters, a powerhitter or two and a way to get rid of Rusch, Bynum, and Dempster IMO.

While his IP will decrease out of the bullpen, he will have to learn how to pitch

on cosecutive days. This could be a whole new ball of wax in terms of adjusments. I hoping he can unseat Dempster as the closer, but I am not getting my hopes up right now.
