Speaking of Vegas, the Bears are a ridiculous 16 1/2 point favorite this weekend. I've never seen a line favoring the bears that high. I remember for the 1994 playoff game against SF, the Bears were 15 point underdogs, so maybe this is payback

To high to bet on the Bears, but I refuse to bet against them.

And speaking of betting, I hired a handicapper for 100 a week, and I am 13-1 since then. Good investment if anyone is interested (at least until he goes cold).

Going to Jets/Bears with 7 Jets fans, and Giants game with 1 Giants fan. Add that to the Lions game earlier, and I will have gone to more Bears games this year than I have in the past 6 years combined.

Now just keep my fingers crossed that the Eagles keep losing and the Bears-Pats game gets moved to SNF as well. I need more time to tailgate and drink before the game to deal with all the stupid Pats fans :)

I dunno...individual teams can only appear on prime time 5 times during the season. The Bears will already have 4 (Seattle, Arizona, New York, and St Louis). NBC might want to save that potential 5th game for the last one of the season in case the Bears have a shot at 16-0 or (and probably more importantly in their eyes) Favre retires and it's his last game.

I have tickets for the upper level of the Jets game and I'm trying to get some for the Giants game. I also have a small shot at tickets to the first playoff game. I've only been to one Bears game ever prior to all this.

I hope they don't. I have tickets to that game, and won't be able to make it if they do. When would that be announced if it were to happen?

I think they say that it has to be announced at least 12 days before the game for any week but week 17.

Injuries to watch:

Health update: Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad (general soreness), cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. (hamstring) and safety Chris Harris (quad) sat out Monday’s practice.

I'd imagine Muhammad will be fine, but Manning Jr. and Harris would be big losses. Probably more so Manning Jr.

I heard Muhammed will definitely play, and Harris definitely won't.

Manning says he will play, but the trainers aren't so sure.

Not that SF is an offensive juggernaut, but can't afford to lose any more DBs. If Manning has a to miss a game, this would be the one to miss. I hope all 3 can go, though.

BTW, I backed out of the Bears/Giants game. Had a ticket, but let my buddy buy it off of me because I made a much bigger, more important purchase. :D Didn't want to pay for the travel and game. Plus, the late start now would have screwed me and thrown off all my plans.

oh, she wouldn't have noticed! :D

haven't the niners played pretty well offensively?

I don't think anyone should underestimate the 9ers. Not after that Cards game, and not after the sudden injury bug we seem to have acquired.

I won't be thinking the Bears will blow out anyone. 9ers are better than the Cards, IMO. In fact, an argument can be made they were the weakest team on our schedule, especially after the egg they just laid in Oakland.

San Francisco is giving up more points than anyone in the league though. I'd put GB right there with them.

Our pass D is pathetic. We don't use our strength, man to man, enough. Harris and Woodson are great at man to man defense, yet we continue to play zone with two safeties in Collins and Manuel that can't defend the pass for their lives.

At least we're stopping the run this year.

Also on the Bears front, Pat Summerall will handle the play-by-play for Sunday's game against the 49ers. The 76-year-old is making a comeback of sorts.

Can't say I'm real excited about that...
