No team is an unstoppable force. The Bears should've lost to Arizona, and Indy nearly lost to Tennessee.

The way he was talking, he was describing the Giants as an unstoppable force and the Cowboys as a great team that simply ran into that unstoppable force.

Yeah, well the Cowboys are a team with no offensive line and a starting QB who is as mobile as a file cabinet. Not a good combination.

Chris Harris was the only one on the injury report who didn't practice today.

And I got the notification from YouTube that the NFL is claiming copyright infringement. They already removed the clip from week 1. Anyone have any advice?

My best advice is for everyone to stop stealing copyrighted material and pay for the product. Seriously.

Amen.

Yeah, there is no product. A few minutes of highlights certainly isn't a replacement for watching a live or archived game (if they even have archived games). Apparently all that free advertising is getting under their skin. YouTube isn't even drawing any advertising revenue from the traffic right now.

It's all about being overly obsessed with having complete control of the footage. It has nothing to do with money. I guess the NHL is now the only league that doesn't actually mind it. Of course, they can't afford to piss off fans.

you can buy highlights from NFL Network and Apple on iTunes

Yeah, but their highlights don't have the WBBM announcers. And only the good Bears plays in it. And don't require Jon to work an hour or so compiling them.

actually do have WBBM (at least some of them do), i've never bought them but I heard Joniak in the 30sec preview

Here's my question though, how are video clips that are posted online any different from me popping a VHS into my recorder and recording the game? I don't really get it.

It's because he's "redistributing" it by putting it on YouTube.

The stuff with the radio calls from both broadcasts are free on chicagobears.com. Are they longer than the free stuff or are they charging to download those?

I just hope the NFL doesn't discover that WBBM is broadcasting it's games online.

I was shocked as well. That can't last long.

That a radio station broadcasts games online that it shouldn't supposed to? I know of at least 4 Colts stations, probably the same number of Pacer stations, and sometimes a few Cubs affiliates that do the same thing. There's even a website that many people frequent that is exclusively devoted to and has huge listings of affiliates that might be carrying the game online for every team in many different sports-and usually at least one of each team can be found for every game that has the game online. It's certainly not very uncommon, and it's been going on for years.

So Benson is talking again, wanting more playing time.

Personally, I don't have a problem with that. It's one thing to get all the carries, and complain you aren't getting enough. But Benson truly isn't being given much of a chance to do anything. And Jones isn't doing anything.

The next two weekends might be perfect for throwing Benson into the mix and see what he can do. Both guys had injury issues in training camp. Benson should be healthy now, with next to no contact for nearly two months. You should be able to sell it to the locker room by talking about the need to keep Jones healthy all year, and that the running game needs a spark. You can start Jones, and play him a bit. But give Benson twenty touches the next two games and see what happens.

i really don't understand what they bears have continued to do by not allowing benson to get any significant touches. he's costing them a ton of money AND he's probably better than jones.

lovie should stop letting the players run the team and play the guy who may not be the most popular fellow in the locker room. trust me, after a couple of games, benson will be well liked by the defense.

I agree. If I was Benson I'd be saying something too. It's past time for him to get an opportunity. They were showing some of his comments on CSN last night, and they were showing some Thomas Jones runs over the top of that, and it was clear that Jones's dancing around is a problem...at least in my opinion.

Listening to WSCR online again (I need to stop), and these guys are ragging on Benson for not looking a handoff into his hands. RBs are not supposed to look at the ball when they are receiving a handoff. It is the QB's job to put the ball in there, the RB is supposed to keep his head up and look for where he needs to run.

Mulligan and Hanley?

I need to stop listening to Mike North on the way to work too, but I just like to hear Chicago sports in the morning, so that's my only source.

I don't know who these guys are, but I think I heard somebody say Mulligan, so I guess.

I turned on North, but that guy is painful to listen to.

Mike Mulligan is a Sun-Times columnist and Brian Hanley is a Sun-Times staff reporter.

And yes, North is very very painful to listen to.

The hate and anger for Benson in Chicago is even more than some of the over the top hate (in other words stubbornness of pre-season Griese supporters) towards Grossman. I think people are still anger at Benson for holding out in the summer of 2005. I don't get it. He needs to play, and he needs to soon.
