Go Wichita State Shockers and Missouri Valley Conference!!!

They've got a heck of a team this year. Good luck to ya laddie!

Thank you. Cuse looks pretty good, I was just amazed that WSU somehow escaped Syracuse with a win, despite the last half near-meltdown by the Shockers.

At any rate, here's a note to Billy Packer and Jimmy Williams.

Get lost. MVC isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

As usual....The Big Least is overrated again this season.

Badgers roll in a huge blowout at home. In the words of Vitale, Pitt got taken to the shed.

Cant wait for Mr Butch to meet Mr Buckeye in the Madtowne the 1st week of January.

That Alando Tucker kid is really really really good. He keeps it up and you will be talking about the PoY for him.

GO WISKY!

Pitt always plays a terrible schedule and is overrated. Maybe sometime this century the Big 10 will win a National Championship? Do you think?

I think someone will this January. They should also be playing another Big Ten team for the title. I beleive we had a basketball team that would have won if not for standing within two feet of Sean May being a foul.

Thanks to the "voters".

Basketball is determined on the court. I do realize how frustrating it is when refs take over a game but unfortunately it happens.

No worries I was thrilled when you guys beat KU. We had a huge keg party as a result of winning our tourney pool.

Is the year 2000 the last century or this century? Ive always thought it was this century.

It's last century. This century, and in this case millenium, didn't start until 2001.

Just because Illinois couldn't stop Sean May to save its life in that game doesn't mean you have to throw out untrue statements like that. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Illinois that year but there was no favorite playing by the refs in that game.

I would agree with that-I was also rooting bigtime for Illinois, but I thought that game was called very fairly.

Penn State lost by 3 points to SE Louisiana. All is lost

Seriously what is with them? Some games they look like a tournament team, other games they lose to freakin SE Louisiana.

they play the "name on the shirts" as the coach says. In other words, they play down to the competition and have no focus. I predict they'll lose at least 2 or 3 games to teams like Northwestern but will upset a team like OSU or MSU

I though NC definitely had the benefit of the calls, but nowhere near to the extent they did two games before. oh if only one Alando Tucker was healthy that year.

edit - correction. that was the 'if only Devin Harris was still around year'

The free throw disparity would also agree with my argument. UNC also got the benefit of the doubt on a huge call in the last minute against Villanova. They got a lot of "breaks" that year in the tourny.

Come on. You're an Illinois fan. You should know what type of team you had back then. Illinois was a 3 point shooting team. They didn't drive into the basket. They shot jumpers. You don't get fouled too often shooting jumpers. 40 of their 70 shots in the title game were from beyond the arc. Illinois shot 6 free throws in the National Title game. They also only shot 8 against Louisville in the National semifinals. Does that mean the refs favored Louisville? Didn't think so.

Sean May was an established post presence and the fact is that Illinois couldn't stop him. When you're completely overmatched like that, you're are going to commit fouls. It happens.

with both that game and the game against Wisconsin, I though the problem was May was allowed to push everyone out of the way down low, whether it be to get open, to make a move to the basket, or to clear out for a rebound, while at the same time there were alot of touch/ticky tack fouls called when NC was on offense.

while certainly I am biased for the UW game, but I don't think that's an unfair assessment and the commentators stated so during that game. but with U of I, I had NC picked to win it all in the pool, so I think I was a fairly objective observer. despite your insistence, NC did get the benefit of the calls, especially in the first half of the champ. game.

when do the rankings come out?

can't wait to see Florida and Duke both ranked ahead of the Badgers even though the Badgers have wins against common opponents that both teams lost to, and the quality win against Pitt to boot.

SIU is tied at 13 at the 8 min timeout.

The reffing in this game has been atrocious. A lot of ticky tack calls on our end and also a couple of bad travel calls on offense for us.

So because you claim to be an objective observer I'm wrong? Are you kidding me? I could say the same thing to you. Despite your insistence, NC did not get the benefit of the call at any point in the game.

In the UNC-UW game, UW only committed 2 more fouls than UNC and shot 5 less free throws. Sean May only shot 4 free throws. Again, the guy was a monster in the tournament, especially in the Final Four, and had clearly stepped up his game.

the point about me being objective for the U of I game goes to your accusation that the other poster is biased and therefore can't have an opinion on the matter. where you got what you did out of that statement is beyond me.

keep gleaning all you can about the officiating from the box score. did you miss my point about May not getting called for fouls? exactly where does that show up in the box score? as far as I know, there isn't a second catagory called "actual fouls."

the questionable officiating was well documented and I didn't need the sports media to point it out to me.

SIU loses 57-47. Quality W for Indiana.

We still can't solve a 1-3-1 defense to save our life. As soon as IU started going to that D is when we started to struggle on the offensive side of the ball (more so than usual).

Central Michigan at home on Wednesday should be an easy W and then St. Mary's on the road on the 29th to end our non-conference slate. I'll be satisfied with a 9-2 non-conference record.

James Augustine played 4 minutes 4 minutes. Felton got in foul trouble early and then played the entire final what, 27 minutes without picking up another foul. I know we shot a lot of threes, but we also got called for fouls for standing next to Sean May.

Duke is so bad this year. I can't wait for the ACC to start.

It was a very entertaining game. Both teams played hard, IU got some lucky bounces on a couple 3's, and then the rebounding and turnover edge really helped IU. It was fun to watch a game with so much defensive intensity on both hands-good luck to your squad the rest of the season.

I know we didn't play anyone worth a crap today, but just watching Bill Walker on the court makes me happy. He could be the difference maker and had a nice game today.. 15 pts/4 boards in 22 Mins. I can't wait to see him paired with Beasley next year! He definitely adds another scorer, which should help a LOT come Big 12 time.
