Anyway, the disparity between the Big 12 North and South was HUGE this year, that's why KSU is still a bubble team. They got 2 games each against CU, ISU, Nebraska, and Mizzou

Up your ASS.... We are 11-6 in conference, clearly showed we are at least 4th in the Big 12, yet we still get no respect. I love dilusional Big Televen fans..... Go win at Texas. Guarantee it wouldn't happen. So we lose to KU 2x....but only lose to aTm by 4 at their house, while we only had Walker for 5 mins of the game......no, that didn't matter.. We came back from that, without our best player, to win 12 of 16 and finish 4th in the Big 12......

If KSU is NOT in, I'll drive to Indy and show MANY people my ASS!

No need to take it personally. KSU is as bubble as they come, and I agree it's because of a weak division. Aside from a 1 point win at Texas, they have no wins against the RPI top 50. They really don't have any quality losses that I can see either (maybe A&M). Getting blown away by Cal and New Mexico by as much as they did certainly won't help either, no matter how early in the season they occurred. They beat the teams they should have beaten and weren't very competitive against too many other tournament-worthy teams in their losses.

I will though... read the stats I posted in my last message. As for RPI top 50 wins... we have USC (After tonights soon to be win), UT, and TT....all top 50 RPI Teams (USC will be tonight)

Heh, you beat USC with Gabe Pruitt (USC's best player) coming back in his first game of the season from suspension (and he only played 20 minutes). Big whoop.

Their statistical numbers are very poor. They played an easy schedule, and it is going to end up burning them. It's not a biased opinion that's keeping them out, it's their profile.

I see where you're coming from, yet I don't..... We're #4 in the BIG 12. YES, a conference that has supposedly 3 teams that could contend, yet we beat one of those 3 at home, and are the ONLY team that has beat them at home in something like the last 25 games...hmmmm....

I understand the lack of out of conference play, however, we beat USC to win a mid season tourney..... at a NEUTRAL sight of course. You tell me another team from a MAJOR conference that went on the road like we did, and I'll respond.... However, there ISN'T ONE. We went on the road for the majority of our OOC... and played the same in conference as KU, but still get no respect. I find it hilarious. I will bet ANYONE on this board that we're in... If anyone has the balls..... A LOT of people here know whom I am, and know I'll pay if wrong. Anyone wish to wager??? If we dont' get in, it's the biggest BS of ANY major conference any time in the recent past...

For example..

Out of the major conferences...

169/169 teams have gotten in with...

4th place in the conference

10 conference wins

20 wins overall..

If KSU is the one team (after winning against the "for sure" team not in the top 3 in the conference), then the NCAA has issues that need to be addressed. However, after the 97/98 football debacle where we were #3 in the nation but didn't get a BCS game, I don't trust anything....

4th in the #7 conference in the nation. I guarantee you the 4th place team in the MVC (the 6th place conference) will not get their team in, even though they have much better statistical numbers than KSU does.

That being said, one more win will definitely put them in as they'll be in the title game. But they are definitely a bubble team. If the five of us on here saw how bad their stats measure up to some of the other bubble teams, I'm sure guys that are actually on the committee will notice that as well.

RPI is a JOKE..

Put the 3 best MVC (I went to WSU for a while, so I'm not totally KSU biased) vs the 3 top Big 12 teams, and what do you get???? I haven't ONCE heard of ESPN talking about a MVC team having the probability to win it all... HOWEVER, I have definitely heard message board/ESPN talk that KU, aTm, and UT all could be HIGH seeds.... hmmmm.. coincidence???? RPI is absurd, as I'd put ANY Big 12 team up against the MVC with NO worry about who would win.. (Maybe minus KU as they like to lose against low seeds :) )

No offense, but K-state would be the 3rd best team in the MVC.

Any big 12 team against the MVC????? I know you're being hyperbolic, but are you kidding me??? Nebraska, Colorado, Baylor, and Iowa St. are all worse than EVERY team in the MVC. The middle of the Big XII is no better than the middle of the MVC. Basically you've got a superior top of the conference for the Big XII and a superior bottom for the MVC.

I love this type of arrogance from big conference teams and their fans. The comparison between the Big 12 and MVC is interesting. Obviously the Big 12 has three really good teams, but after that they have two decent teams, and the rest are garbage. The MVC is even in a down year, but SIU could beat any team in Big 12(and I dont mean that in the "any team could beat any team" sort of way). I mean that SIU is a very good team. After them, you have Creighton, who are playing at really high level; and Missouri State who lost to OK St by 3 in overtime, while Kansas St lost by 14, and has way more meaningful wins. A couple guys I know from Oklahoma gave me crap last year before the tournament, until my school made them look silly.

Not their best effort, but I'll take it from the Badgers.

Other than that lull at the beginning of the second half, I liked the way they played. They moved it around and other people besides Tucker and Taylor got involved in the offense.

IU should shoot more 2 pointers. Oh yeah, and DJ White should get more than 9 shot attempts, you know, being the best player on the team and all. Especially since he drew like 19 fouls last night.

looks like we have a very angry KSU fan on the board for some reason.......

anyway, the illini pull it out again without really doing anything of note. i don't understand how this team wins, they can't put the ball in the basket at all. they may be the best ugly team in the country, i have to salute weber for getting all he can out of a team with chet frazier at point guard.

I'll just be sitting my rear at the bar for 12 hours at a time on Thursday and Friday.

Yup, it was very nice. They already have the historical highlights section up to view-so Raisin can feel great by watching the UCLA vs Missouri highlight, then torture himself by watching Princeton/UCLA, then feel better when watching UCLA/Gonzaga from last year :D.

Not angry... more like just sick of trying to justify. I should be use to KSU getting no respect by now, but I just can't seem to let it go and sit back and just see what happens. Passionate fan I guess....

Their schedule sucked. It's not that every person on this board has an irrational hate for K-State, but they just played a cupcake schedule this year. That being said, they probably earned their way in with the win over Texas Tech yesterday.

just relax, it doesn't matter.

Here's what the ESPN guy (not Lunardi) had to say... seems pretty logical:

Several teams -- notably Purdue, Illinois and Kansas State -- got big wins that pushed them to the front of the at-large waiting list, and, more important for the bubblers as a whole, both Nevada (WAC) and Xavier (A-10) lost, meaning two at-large spots just vanished from the pool.

If you believe Nevada and Xavier are in (which is a very safe bet), and you believe Purdue, Illinois and Kansas State are now likely to get there (which is pretty reasonable), that leaves only one at-large spot for the rest of the pool -- and that assumes that Memphis doesn't lose in the C-USA final Saturday.

Here's the pool of teams that appear to be in contention for that spot:

Air Force, Stanford, Florida State, West Virginia, Old Dominion, Drexel, Missouri State and Appalachian State.

Agreed-K-State fans want to watch these tournaments closely:

Conference USA final-they need a Memphis win

SEC-they'd prefer Florida and Mississippi State advancing to the final-most important thing is that Florida wins the tournament.

Big 10-Can Purdue or Illinois shock one of the top 2 seeds?

Right now, I do believe that K-State is one of the last teams in. They do not want to be blown out by Kansas today though-the margin is razor thin between teams, and they do not want the committee to give them a reason to leave them out. A close loss against Kansas should be fine for them as long as most of those other tournaments work out-if Houston steals a bid, along with 1 or 2 of the SEC teams, then it could be bubble trouble for K-State.

classic bruce weber quote to his team before the BTT.

I am going to bring 4 suits. What are you going to bring?

Lorenzo Romar said the same thing, didn't work out as well for U-Dub.

I can't believe Stanford is on the bubble. ETA: Stanford struggled after they lost their PG Anthony Goods. His first game back was against USC in their OT tournament loss.

What Princeton-UCLA game? (Thankfully, that was waay before my time at UCLA - heck, I was in 8th grade for that. I remember being more pissed that the Bulls lost a game that same weekend.)

UW's worse than illinois, though.

damn, we should have beaten them last year in the tourney!

This year? Yeah. Not last year.

Look out for U-Dub next year if Hawes comes back (and Romar realizes having the two best post-up guys in the Pac-10 might be more conducive to half court offense).

illinois was better last year, too. the refs handed that game to the huskies. they were in the bonus seemingly the whole second half. still, illinois should have been able to hold that 11 point lead.
