Do Indiana's players know that they're allowed to shoot the ball from inside the three-point arc?

PSU played a lot of zone, taking away the inside game.

IU took the right approach and burned them from three point range.

Solid win for the Hoosiers. Any Big Ten road win is nice, and PSU is not going to beat some decent teams in Happy Valley this year. The progress this team has made under Sampson from November to now is very impressive.

Fixed. Penn State blows.

PSU has some talent, and they will win some games over teams better than them at home. The announcer said during the broadcast the home team wins 80% of the time in Big Ten games. To win by 10 on the road in conference was a nice win for IU.

Sigh. This is going to be a repeat of the Michigan game. Can't convert any easy opportunities at the basket...

Except that Wisconsin figured out that you can post up down low and score easily against this defense, something that escaped Michigan.

No. I have a 6th sense for this crap by now.

Tennessee up 1 with the ball in Columbus with 26.5 secs left.

Wow, so free throws are sorta important. As an Illinois Alum I hate Pearl and therefore Tennessee, but they are really good.

Bummer for Tennessee. Lofton misses the front end of a 1 and 1, then Lewis makes a 3(his foot was on the line) with 14 secs left, Tennessee misses a couple tries, and OSU clears(Butler was out of bounds when he threw it out of danger.)

It was very quick, but I thought they only gave Lewis the two. OSU was only down by 1 anyway. And yes, Butler was very much on the line with time still left on the clock.

Jeff Ryan with the steal, breakaway layup, AND ONE!

Ryan misses the FT, but Moore grabs the rebound and will hold for the last shot. Tied at 24-24.

Doyle with the YMCA left-handed hook shot, NU steals it at half-court on the third straight possession, and Wisconsin called for the foul.

NU finishes on a 10-2 run and lead it 26-24 at the half.

The halftime guys on Doyle's hook:

-"He has been practicing that left-handed hook shot."

-"Well, when you can't jump over the Evanston phone book, you better have something in your arsenal."

Great finish to the half by Northwestern and they lead #4 UW 26-24 at the half.

I'd guess UW still wins by 10+, but if there was any doubt how hard it is to win on the road in the Big Ten, there you go. NU has no business playing ahead of UW for 20 minutes.

sounds like another big ten defense-first brickfest

From what I have seen, it is exactly that.

Today was a case of Big 10 home cooking and ATROCIOUS free throw shooting by my Vols. UT should have won. Not often that your 80% free throw shooting, All American candidate misses the front end of a 1 and 1 in that situation.

Oh well, that is still great experience for our young team. Should benefit us going tino the Tourney.

Oh yeah, Oden is a BEAST. If he were at UT, we're 15-1 and ranked inthe top 3 in the country. Of course, lots of teams could perhaps say that. He EXACTLY what UT is missing though, a dominant inside presence.

Man. Northwestern is taking the ball away at half-court almost at will over the last 10 minutes.

Jeff Ryan is really making the most of his time out there with Coble out today. I'm really surprised they're playing so well without him.

Yeah he's scary good for a freshman. I really really really hope the Sixers get the #1 pick. Of course, Billy King could say "we've already got Samuel Dalembert, we don't need another big guy!"

Lord, I hope not, for your sake. But, this draft is going to be the best draft in 20 years, so even if you don't end up with Oden, there will still be guys like Durant, Brandan Wright, and Al Horford available.

Despite their poor shooting from beyond the arc, Northwestern leads it by 3 with about 12 minutes to go.

Wow. 28 of NU's 38 points have come off turnovers.
