BTW, I'm confused on the seeding this year. ARe the Bulls the 3 seed right now or the 5? I'm not sure if it's seeded strictly by record this year, or is it the 3 division winners and best 2nd place team are seeded by record?

IF the Bulls finish 3rd in their division and 3rd in the East, are they the 3-seed, or are they behind the other 2 division winners also at the 5th seed?

Fifth.

According to dougthonus on realgm's Bulls board, the Bulls locked up a ton of tiebreakers against the East last night with their win over the Pistons.

realgm.com[/url]"]Last night the Bulls clinched the tiebreaker with both Detroit and the Cavs.

Cavs:

The Bulls can at worst finished tied head to head and tied in the division and then the Bulls would win by virtue of conference record.

Pistons:

At worst we can finish tied head and we'd own the division record (as well as conference, but that wouldn't matter).

Other tiebreakers:

We own it vs Miami (head to head)

We own it vs Washington (at worst we tie head to head and we win conference)

Toronto we would clinch the tiebreaker if they beat Minnesota (which would guarantee us a better conference record in event of a tie) or we could clinch the tiebreaker by beating Toronto. If we lose to Toronto and Toronto loses to Minnesota, and we end up tied then I'm not sure what comes next to determine the tie breaker. Probably record vs playoff teams or something which I'm too lazy to look up.

It's the latter (3 division winners and best 2nd place team seeded by record). They are seeded 5th right now, but they would have homecourt advantage over the 4 seed-and if they and the 3 seed somehow reached the conference finals together, they would have homecourt advantage over them as well.

So, is it re-seeded at all? If 1-2-3 and the Bulls at 5 all win, and the Bulls have a better record than the 3, who plays the Pistons?

It's not re-seeded at all-the Bulls would play the Pistons in that scenario.

Knicks lose again in Dallas :D

Big big big big game tomorrow.

For the out-of-town fans, I'm not sure if the Superstation will carry it, but it'll also be on ESPN.

pistons showing why they have the best record in the East

They can magically force teams to miss free throws?

Unbelievable.

I'm with you on that, Slick.

The Detroit game wouldn't have even been close down the stretch if Gordon didn't miss 3 free throws in a row. For an 87% free throw shooter, this was just plain lucky on the Piston's part. Actually, I think the Bulls missed 5 in a row at one point. That's not the Pistons doing anything. It's just luck, it's never happened before this season and it hasn't happened against the Pistons either.

Bulls were just better Thursday, period. Even shooting terribly from the field, the inside game of the Bulls was so completely dominant the Pistons were reduced to a mediocre perimeter shooting team. Even sheed's biggest impact was as a 3-point shooter.

This team can just look so bad at times.

Pathetic rotation by Skiles by letting Khyrapa guard LBJ. Almost as bad as having Pike guard him like he did last year. And how is Pavolic getting offensive boards over Big Ben?

He was on the receiving end of a terribly obvious shove in the back on one of them, but overall, he's looked terrible on the boards that quarter.

Pavolic has 2 rebounds the entire game (to Wallace's 7) so I wouldn't exactly say Ben is getting schooled under there

How many times were the Cavs able to pull it down or tap it out against Ben that quarter? They totalled 7 offensive boards that quarter. He was far from dominating underneath.
