One can hope, right? Besides, if McDonough is that adamant about winning, you got to imagine he'll at least ask Hendry to pursue. Right? Right?

 

There is no way we'd get ARod without Ramirez. The Yankees don't downgrade at positions and I don't see another 3B that can step in for the Yankees

 

If the Cubs A-Ram to a new contract, wouldn't that mean they couldn't trade him until May or June?

 

Only if he gets to file for free agency in between.

Anyone think that the Yankees overspending brings them to their downfall every year? Pitching wins in October and the hardest thing to get through FA is probably pitching. The only pitchers that the Yankees can get their hands on are past their prime pitchers like Randy Johnson and Kevin Brown. The majority of the teams that have great pitching bring them up through their farm system. The Yankees can't do that because they are always trading away the farm. The cycle shows itself every year when the Yankees bats can't score runs, and the pitching can't stop the other team.

the magglio ordonez contract is still bad whether the tigers win or not

 

Maybe so. 1, 2 bad contracts for productive players. Not so bad. But atleast they don't have several bad contracts like we've had.
