I'm checking out a few Yankees sites and the A-Rod-hate couldn't be hotter. I hope they eat it tonight and tomorrow, he does squat and the team ships him off way under-value.

A-Rod slumped, but the hate for him is way off-base methinks.

The guy is human. He's not going to hit .450 with 65 homers and 200 RBI.

Listening to most Yankee fans, it seems EVERYTHING is somehow A-Rod's fault. Poor guy can't catch a break.

Ship him to us. We'll give Bynum and Rusch for him.

This is crazy...Comerica is rocking probably about as much as Wrigley was in 2003. Never thought a big spacious ballpark like that could rock so hard.

As hard as Zumaya throws, you put Verlander in the pen and he'll likely throw harder than Zumaya. I can see him hitting 102-103 on a regular basis. To me, hitting 100 while pacing is a greater show of velo than 102 out of the pen.

SCHWARZ: Of course, Joel throws harder in his first 20 pitches, while Justin, you'd throw harder after 100 pitches. So here's the question--on pitch No. 50, who's the harder thrower?

VERLANDER: We were about even as starters.

ZUMAYA: Definitely. As a starter me and Verlander were practically the same. We would throw 96, 97, and next thing you know, seventh inning comes around we'll pop one or two in there that says 100 or 99.

VERLANDER: I wouldn't mind coming in as a reliever to see if I could do it.

two questions.

Why did Leyland put his best reliever in a 6 run game? (I know it was only for a few pitches, but it still seems pretty foolish to me)

and, Why does Verlander strike out so few batters while throwing so hard?

I dont know why Verlander doesnt K people more. He has a nasty curve ball as a out pitch. He rely's on his upper 90s fastball a lot.

One word for Kenny Rogers last night. MASTERPIECE.

He was awesome last night, crazy awesome.
