He probably will because it's the Cubs and they're going to have 80 injured pitchers again, but he hasn't done anything to deserve it.

He's also coming off 2.5 years of missing time and has not shown the control and command of his pitches that he had prior to his injury and surgeries. His velocity is all the way back, his curve is improving (as he's scrapped his slider). I expect to see the same Guzman as in 2003 with the rust gone next season.

What had Marshall done to deserve a starting spot last March? He had just 10 starts above AA and had injuries in each of his first two pro seasons. He earned it with a strong spring training. It's possible that Guzman will be better when he's not in his first season back from injury.
