great win...but is anyone else still a little concerned with the running game?

Stocking up against the run to force the Bears' hands and make Grossman throw?

I think they've learned their lesson.

Looks like the Vikings are going to win.

You suck, Panthers.

Methinks the Vikings might be a sleeper team this year.

After watching enough of that game, I can tell you that the Panthers had that game locked up before Chris Gamble decided to throw the game away.

Believe me, if there ever was a loss that could be pinned on a single player, this would be a really good example of it.

Chris Collinsworth was blaming John Fox, saying he called for that pass, but I don't know if that was just assumption on Collinsworth's part.

Fox said after the game that all the plays go through him and that he specifically OK'd it. Really dumb play by the part of a coach who generally knows what he is doing.

I'll admit that I wanted a TE in the draft. I was pretty adamant about it. However, utilizing the TE's we have much moreso than they did last year really opens up the defense and allows the long passes. They've proven that the TE's they have are adequate enough to create more offensive options, which in turn will keep opposing defenses off balance.

I'm very excited about what this offense is doing.

Same here. I wanted Marcedes Lewis so bad. I was so angry at that draft. However, we got a great returner in Hester, and what appears to be a good returner in Hester and Manning. Angelo and Lovie obviously knew something we didn't. Clark looks great, and utilizing TEs is what good offenses do. I love what the offense has shown so far.

I still can't believe we just had a QB throw for 4TD's in a game.

I can't believe we have scored 50+ points in 2 weeks.

Grossman is really making the haters that booed him at Soldier Field

look like a bunch of jackasses.

60 points.

roy williams is an idiot

"I celebrate first downs all the time. I'm not gonna stop that. I'm an exciting player. If I do something exciting, I'm gonna show my actions."

Albom responded, "But you were losing, 10-0."

"What does that mean? ... That means nothing to me. The score means nothing," Williams told Albom.

I don't want to claim an I told you so on this one, but I was never all that excited about getting a TE in the draft. I've always liked Desmond, and thought he was as good as the vast majority of NFL TEs. If they could have gotten a Gates, great, but I didn't see one out there.

Boy, was I wrong about this game. I thought the line was way too big, did it end up hitting 9?

That was a blast.

I'll give credit where credit is due. You were 100% right on the TE situation. Well done.

I went to the game and it was amazing. It was an absolute steamrolling. The Bears don't just look good, they look great.

I wasn't able to watch the game. How did Detroit rack up all the yardage? Was it meaningless late game yardage or were they moving the ball well outside of 3rd down situations?

New gameplan against Bears defense on 3rd down- PUNT!

The line did indeed hit 9 at one point.

Many prognosticators picked against the Bears because of that, including guys like Dan Hampton and Hub Arkush (although Hub loves to pick against the Bears since they dumped him).

I never thought this would be such a drubbing. The Bears have impressed me beyond any expectations.

I'm not going to get too excited yet though, until I see how this team handles some of the better opponents on the schedule. That starts next week with a tough road battle on turf in Minny, and continues with the home game vs. Seattle.

They actually moved the ball well at times, but then the Bears would come up with a big play or a turnover. And it was completely clear the Bears were beating the Lions in the individual matchups, which lead to just a slew of Lions penalties.

The Lions had a couple decent runs, and seemed to connect on quite a few 10-15 yard pass plays. But with the score the way it was so early, they were bound to give up yardage eventually.

Rivera also said that they played more conservatively once they had the big lead...

The Bears, who have allowed just seven points this season, were able to play more conservatively after leading 24-0 at the half. Two other Lions, Kevin Jones and Mike Furrey, also had six receptions apiece.

"When you have the lead like that, catching the ball in front of you is not going to kill you," Rivera said.

"And it kind of worked in our favor because it ground the clock out a little bit too. We were a little concerned because there were plays that we should generally stop. But we kept it in front of us."

Cool. I did have concerns when I saw the box score, but I feel much better now. I've never been a huge fan of loose coverage, but if that's why the Bears gave up that kind of yardage, I can live with that.

What's the health situation looking like for Sunday's game? I won't be able to watch that one either.

I don't think anyone left this game with any kind of injuries that have been announced yet.

Man, if you don't watch the games you can't comment on them based soley on stats in the box score.......

I was there, and the feeling I had was they dominated when the outcome was in question, then loosed a bit (but still had some ferocious hits) as the lead widened.

I got in at +9 and was content to see it get blown away. The interception return for a TD could have made the line very interesting, but was easily cancelled by the penalty.

Oh, if I could watch the games, I would. Unfortunately, it will be awhile before I see another Bears game. I have something going on every weekend through October. Hence the reason I actually haven't kept up with football as much as I used to.

I'll be a box score stat monger for the next several weeks. But, in November and December, my opinions will be first hand. :D
