"If you look at the at-bats, we swung at some bad pitches," Bynum said. "I wouldn't say they were that tough. It was bad pitch selection."

What is this concept? You don't want to clog the bases, i know that. You want to be aggressive at the plate, I know that, too. It IS strange that our pitchers often find themselves in trouble after giving up walks, yet opposing pitchers rarely find themselves in that situation. That has been confusing me for some time.

It seems like this guy is suggesting you wait for a good pitch that you can hit hard, and swing at it. I don't know, seems to me that sometimes you wouldn't see a good pitch, and then you'd just end up clogging the bases again.

Back to the drawing board.

Well Bynum certainly hurt his "New Neifi" candidacy with that quote.

Awh shucks, whose gonna be our player-scapegoat now?!

I vote we all travel back to pierre.

I, too, noticed the irony here.....but he does make a point.

Those who can, do; those who can't, teach. If he knows how to be a successful hitter but can't do it himself, he'd make a great hitting coach. We may have found our replacement for Clines. :D

That replacements name is either going to be Zisk or Von. What really surprised me is that I always thought of Gary Mathews as a good guy to teach hitters to increase their IsoD. I have to wonder if Baker had too much of an influance on him and pushed him into the swing away method. What were Clines numbers IsoD wise? Wasn't he a swing away guy?

The title "Bynum for manager" sounds like a good idea to me. A perfect swap, Bynum would probably be a better manager than Dusty and Dusty could probably outhit Bynum.

I'm assuming the entire coaching staff will be out the door with Dusty.

Maybe he really did mean it...

You reffering to his 2 walks, today?

Three!

Nice job by Bynum yesterday, I hope he keeps it up.

Don't worry, he was probably scolded after the game...

Speed guys don't clog bases. Please refer to your Dusty manual Section 7 Article 3.
