Cuz we're going for the #1 Draft pick, dudes

Well, at least Mabry is batting where he belongs for once.

actually he belongs on the bench. moore, soto & theriot should be starting instead of bynum, blanco & maybry.

Gotta get those veterans some playing time. Otherwise they'll get rusty.

(Attempted) answers to questions:

I have no idea why Bynum ever starts, plays second base or bats second. And this is one day after Dusty talked up Theriot.

Yes, the job is harder in these situations. A lot of people think media members love negative stories, but I can tell you that a winning team is much more fun to cover. These games have been absolutely meaningless, and all the attention is on football and the White Sox. I was just telling people in the press room that I've traveled with the Cubs for nine years now, and I've covered four really putrid teams: 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2006.

But overall, I still enjoy the job and love baseball, so it isn't all that bad. I've got no complaints.

...and said this...

When shortstop Cesar Izturis returns Monday from his hamstring injury, Baker will have another dilemma. Does he stick with the original game plan and move Ronny Cedeno back to second, or give the job to Ryan Theriot? "We'll see," Baker said. "Theriot has done pretty good. We're in the producing business."

bynum hasn't outproduced theriot (or anybody, for that matter) in any way.

Fred, these Braves jerseys have caused me to flashback to when the Orioles broke out their oriole colored jerseys. Do you remember the way Boog "the Booger" Powell looked wearing that?
