Bynum... LoL Im so sick year after year Cubs playing these freaking pieces of trash like Macias, Enrique Wilson, Bynum. Etc... the list goes on and on...

Fatty McFatterson is activated too?? i think im gunna be sick

I think Bynum could be an ok player to have if Baker actually used him correctly. He's a 25th type guy for an emergency or pinch running but for some reason Baker will trot him out there way more than he should.

why are the Cubs under the impression that Bynum is good?

He freakin blows.

well thought out reasoning. The in-depth analysis is impressive.

I thought so too. "He Freakin blows" pretty much sums up Bynum, I think.

b/c he can play multiple positions

and he can catch the ball

And he's fast.

And he comes to play the game.

Bynum's VORP: .4

Neifi: -7.4

Bynum appears to be slightly better than replacement level. So that's something, I guess....

But VORP is cumulative, and Bynum hasn't played much. Give him time. He'll reach savior status eventually.

Well at least Bynum's has been heading in the right direction...

Freddie Bynum's minor league stats are just brutal

http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/B/Freddie-Bynum.shtml

He has never hit more than 5 HR's in a season.

He has struck out more than 100+ times a season 3 different occasions

He has never hit for average except once in single A.

This guy should not be on any major league roster.

He should not play in LF over Murton or Pagan.

He should not play at 2B over The Riot.

Hell...you are better off calling up Fotentot over Bynum.

Players like Bynum should never start. Bynum should be the last option off the bench, possibly filling in late in the game as a defensive sub (like Boston did with Pokey Reese) or possibly if you need speed on the bases, again, late in the game. I don't necessarily dislike having Bynum on the team, assuming the rest of the bench isn't made up of other Bynums-by-different-names. The Cubs have been doing this now for a few years in a row, collecting 25th men. Let's see. Macias, Damian Jackson, Enrique Wilson, Neifi!, Rey Ordonez, Freddy GoFaster Bynum, it's pretty sad.

Ugh, we didn't need anyone else who could play middle infield (The Riot should be getting every start that Ronny or Arthritic Piece Of Crap doesn't get). Why not just bring up Restovich?

I agree that Theriot should be getting the starts that Izturis or Cedeno doesn't get (and I think he will for the most part, but am less sure about that than some other things I've thought Dusty will do) but I disagree that 3 players on the roster capable of playing the middle infield is enough. I think you really need four on a usual basis that can at least slide over to the MI-otherwise it just limits your options way too much on the bench. I'm not sure Bynum is the choice (although I understand why they called him up), but I think they did need to bring up somebody who could play the MI.
