When your best team is Dempsey, Bradley, Fabian Johnson and a series of interchangeable parts, you probably shouldn't piss a year away playing guys out of position.

You probably shouldn't dismiss a solid league full of players when it's YOUR DOMESTIC LEAGUE either.

Liga MX bums and out of position euro leaguer's are not better than the best of MLS.

I don't understand the sudden re-appearance of Orozco at 2 different positions in the last two matches. Bedoya alongside an out of shape Jones may work against Peru, but I wouldn't consider it in any real competition. What was Jones so pissed about when he left the game besides the godawful level of play?

Altidore seemed to have a terrible touch on 4 out of 5 touches which were spaced out between long stretches of disappearing.

I thought Williams pushed the tempo pretty well, Johannson had a few nice moments in limited action and Ream was the best of the back 4, which is not saying much.

@JeffreyCarlisle: Jones y'day at team hotel: "Anyone who knows me, knows I prefer to have someone who covers me, so I can go all over the place." #usmnt

USMNT gets by far the easiest semifinal qualifying group with T&T, Guatemala and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

After the Mexico game, that basically gives them a year until the hex to straighten things out. I think even getting 4th would be tough for squad that was in the GC / recent friendlies.

Apparently we're not hosting Copa America next year. No word on whether we'll play in it. Will probably have to be in Brazil or Chile due to stadium availability.

This somehow traces back to Jurgen. I don't know how, but I'll find the connection.

Why do players like Aaron Ramsey and Luke Shaw get their legs snapped when guys like Diego Costa deserve to have it happen to them?

Costa deserved about three yellow cards at the end of the first half and only got one. He might be the most unlikable person in soccer right now.

Martial is having a good start for Man U. 3 goals in the first two weeks there.

In other news, the Fire looked to have cleaned house with Yallop and the assistant coaches gone.

The Chicago Fire announced on Sunday afternoon that they have parted ways with Frank Yallop as head coach of the MLS club, in addition to assistant coaches Marc Bircham and Clint Mathis.

The Fire have also announced the hiring of former MLS veteran Nelson Rodriguez as General Manager, who will join the club on October 19th. The coaching changes will take effect immediately.

The Fire have named Technical Director Brian Bliss as interim head coach for the duration of the 2015 season, along with Logan Pause as interim assistant coach. Numerous names have been mentioned as a possible permanent replacement for Yallop, including USMNT U-20 head coach Tab Ramos, and former USMNT star and current Fox Sports analyst Eric Wynalda.

holy [expletive] Lewandowski was subbed in at the half, and scored 4 goals in 11 minutes

51', 52', 55', 57'

edit: make that 5, as he added one at the 59' mark
