Very nice 0-2 victory away against Russia today for Belgium.

It's only a friendly, but Russia is still ranked 13th on the FIFA list.

OMG Cristiana had an amazing run, hit a perfect chip and Nani like a moron headed it in from an offsides position when it was millimeters from crossing the line. Ronaldo flipped out.

Whoa...great combination give and go from Agudelo to Diskerud back to Agudelo. Combined age of 37 on that goal.

Nice, looking forward to watching the match when I get home. And the Messi goal. Stupid work computer is blocked from videos.

Juan Agudelo, Mix Diskerrud and Teal Bunbury are seriously talented. In 4 years, we are going to actually have real battles for positions.

They played with a ton of confidence too and some needed swagger. I was impressed with Agudelo's runs off the ball. He seems like he is constantly moving.

Belgium has some really nice young attacking players. Could be an international sleeper in the years to come.

Agudelo's finish was nice, but Mix's pass to him was sweet. He flicked it up to himself in traffic in order to make the pass.

That's Clint-esque. Love it.

Both goals were scored by Lukaku, who has been a regular for Anderlecht for over a year now and is still only 17.

More than half of yesterday's starting eleven (and 5 of the 7 reserves) are 23 or younger - this generation has shown promise for a while but this is the first time they have actually delivered (i.e. looked good as a team and get a result)

If they just say Sporting KC its fine. The logo makes it look like its Kansas City Sporting which is terrible. Its still better than the Wiz and I like the new logo.

I think it's incredibly lame how they try and make their names sound like the Europeans name their teams.

Pretty much the entire world does it and MLS needs to make a more global product. Most all of the nicknames suck so changing it to something the rest of the world understands makes sense. The Dallas Burn, KC Wiz, and other all need to go. The Philadelphia Union however is really good.

It sounds a little goofy, but when the alternative is the equally hokey American team name (KC Wildcats!), it's hard for me to muster up much rage.

MLS needs to make a more global product.

Why? They aren't going to sell their brand of futbol in Europe. They need to work on selling in America, which is always the biggest market any company should try to sell to.

It's extremely trivial in terms of the name, but I'd wager that increasing the "worldliness" of American soccer has a more positive marketing impact than just tacking on whatever lame nickname they could conjure up.

European names and teams are bigger in the States than any MLS team, they better we sell to Europe the more names we can bring over here and draw better crowds. MLS will always be a stepping stone to the major European leagues and hopefully some day be on par with the French and Dutch leagues. Eventually we will see more and more transfers to the European Market. We need to earn more respect with Europe in order for that to happen.

Still its just a team name though, they quality of play on the field is all that really matters.

All that really matters is the financial stability they get selling to Americans.

This is correct:

It's extremely trivial in terms of the name, but I'd wager that increasing the "worldliness" of American soccer has a more positive marketing impact than just tacking on whatever lame nickname they could conjure up.

This is a better name than the Wizards. MLS has a long history of lame, lame names. This one is about a 3 on the offensive scale to 10. THE WIZ LATER THE WIZARDS! THE BURN! THE CLASH! THE MUTINY! REAL SALT LAKE! Awful.
