I'm off to the beach until Friday, so this poll will be open for awhile. Can't wait to get back and see who triumphs!

Why in the world are the 1 and 3 best bands matched up here instead of what would be 1 & 4 (Beatles and Pink Floyd)? Couldn't be that you wanted Floyd to have an easier trip to the finals, could it?

Its really pretty simple. If i had a choose between 2 parties and one place was playing Zep in the background and the other was the Beatles, I would go to the Zep party everytime.

Same as ...

The Metallica party

The AC/DC party

The Pantera party

... and on and on.

If I had to live without listening to one of these groups from here to eternity...I'd give up Zep. And it would only take me about 2 seconds of thought.

And I love Zep.

I wouldn't go to any of those parties.

That's exactly the opposite of me.

Good way of thinking about it.

Yeah, I'm opposite Tim and in agreement with CR.

This is agonizing. Currently the Beatles are my favorite band though and I can't vote against them. All I listen to anymore is Revolver and Rubber Soul.

I wouldnt either and i like those bands. Life is good when im listening to Zep. Im inclined to have more fun (and probably drink more, stay out later, etc etc.) listeng to LZ than the Beatles.

Wow, this is a shame. This would have been like if Illinois and North Carolina would have faced each other in the semifinals in the 2005 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament instead of the finals.

I voted for Zep but it's a shame that this isn't the finals matchup as the winner of this one should easily defeat either The Who or Queen.

This should be the national championship, ah well.

I have to go with Zeppelin here, my favorite band of all time...

Even though I'm listening to Rubber Soul right now.

It's very similar to Duke-UConn in the Nat'l Semifinal in 2004, or Maryland-Kansas in 2002... everyone knew the winner of those games was the champion. The final was just a formality.

I hate to rag on Derwood (esp since he's not here to defend himself until Friday), but his Pink Floyd bias is showing up pretty big here. I'm ok w/ Pink Floyd being a 1-seed, but they're clearly behind Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin to me. I would have had the Beatles and Pink Floyd on one side (with The Who - the best #2 seed - in the PF bracket) and Stones and Zeppelin on the other. I thought from the beginning that this would be the finals matchup and hate to see it in the semi's.

i love both of these bands very dearly and even own vinyl copies of every single one of their albums....but when i applied the "tim" test, i had to go with Beatles. Led Zep doesn't carry so many different types of emotional weight through their music, wheras the Beatles do. So, I go with them.

Pretty crappy semi-final matchup i might add.

Beatles. Hands down. Especially after going to Liverpool last weekend. The Beatles should get this both because I love their stuff and their influence is so huge.

Funny, i was in liverpool two weekends ago. I couldn't believe how many clubs and bars they have in such a small area. did you see the Lennon statue outside the cavern?
